Nah not really worth the effort especially for mail. I try to self-host other stuff except mail. I still run my own mail servers and stuff for other projects, but not for my primary mail.

Open a ticket asking for software update. We don't roll out updates immediately to all nodes, and the support was just fixed for Deb 11+
