I am in a very similar position to yourself and I personally use contabo and recently hostdoc and have faced very little downtime if any.

I think it's more about mingling with a Pi than beating 5€/mo Contabo/Hetzner/Kimsufi pricing because it just won't spec wise.

I've researched further into this, apparently you can geo-target using google webmaster tools so anywhere in Europe looks likely. Also come across a company called Contabo if anyone else has used them

Well after all these replies I still do not really know whether contabo should be considered better with 4 cores than the 2 core hetzner.

contabo, I see interesting pricing point, more specially, they don't suspend your servers if the CPU usages goes high, it may be balanced or slowed down, on Big data some servers or queries consume CP

you are probably better off with a dedi. Contabo's stuff is monthly billed AND virtualized AND has a setup fee AND has a long reputation for crap performance, so it's not really comparable.
