to run a seedbox or some massive website then DO/Linode/VULTR might not be a good fit either.

The number of cores alone doesn't tell the whole story. You only get one core at Digital Ocean, Linode, and Vultr too on their $10 plans but plenty of people host relatively high-traffic sites on thos

Amazon Lightsail 1GB is no match for $10 VPS from Linode, DO, Vultr...

I think everyone in the bay has some HE in their blend :P If you look at folks like DO/Linode/etc though, you'll see a lot of Telia as well - I'm mostly seeing GTT though on the looking glass posted.

Might as well ask for dedicated, 4tb ssd, Amazon/Azure/Linode tier quality.

You still have not posted a concrete example of a provider increasing prices on renewal of an existing product. You mentioned Leaseweb but gave no details. You mentioned AWS but your example didn't

Leaseweb prices look typical of the DO/Linode/Vultr type of provider. Were they lower before? Did existing users have to pay the higher prices to keep using existing services? I think if they raise

Linode has been KVM by default since June 2015 https://blog.linode.com/2015/06/16/linode-turns-12-heres-some-kvm/
