Probably you need a good intelligent monitor system/agent to split or reschedule/throttle the pipeline with different characteristics. This might be a large work, but AI might able to speed this up.

FWIW one comparison point is Oracle where IOPS is scaled to disk size. Not sure that's always great, but it's a useful way to simplify down the choices. (Although in my case it does mean I have a 100G

R/W 500+500 means that the disk is capable of doing 1000+ MB/s read or write when used alone. A 50/50 mix is a much harsher job. Maybe you don't even understand how benchmark results are made.
