Amazon SES? Not free, but some cents per month

I think the network quality of these two small dedis are better than my LightSail vpn, in terms of stability. Ping is distance related, just for reference.

I want to use my Amazon SES as SMTP, but I need a good server for IMAP storage.

Is it possible to have a frontend vps at LightSail hosting httpd and phpbb, and another backend dedi at Europe hosting mysql database? Will the performance deteriorate due to the different data center

I have a $5 Lightsail VPS, a $4 Hetzner VPS, a $3.5 OVH VPS, two $2 Scaleway stardust. I configured all of them as VPN servers. After about 3 years of using, my conclusions are:

I'd stick to Amazon SES. You can always shower them with money for a dedicated IP :-) But shared IP should be just fine for transactional emails, I've used them quite successfully.

Amazon SES is the best option and no issues with delivery issues.

1. On Ace dedi, phpbb can not send out registration email. I set up gmail smtp server in phpbb's control panel. I set up the same way on lightsail's phpbb site, email registration works perfectly. Bot

I have a Lightsail low end vps (1gb 1cpu 80gb ssd) hosting phpbb. It works perfectly for several years already. There is no problem sending out registration emails to new users through the gmail free
