Is one of the reasons why I have Vultr, Linode, DigitalOcean, oneproviders france servers, delimiter dedicated vps, ovh, online.net, and of course buyvm(you can't beat the slice price).

The only issue I see right now is that routing to Japan, or at least Linode in Japan (speedtest.tokyo.linode.com), is terrible. The packets take the long way around the world through Europe to the US

As you'll end by 2018 behind a Linode ASN anyway (no more Telehouse and similar) the geo point of the actual IP becomes even more moot.

This that case - contact Linode, ask them to update the data in whois :-)

I contacted them after you berated the JP LES service for using an ARIN IP suggesting Linode at least assign APNIC IP's

Created a few Linode Japan boxes, and all of them got IPs from this range:

Normally it should only be between 15 and 30 ms to a server in that area. Testing a Linode IP in New York gives me 19 ms.

@mholt, yup Google BBR is more interesting already enabled on a few of my servers running CentOS 7 and Linux 4.12+ kernels. Linode VPSes also come with Linode provided 4.9.36 kernels which support Goo
