If the VPS has only one /64, moving it to the residential router would result in the VPS itself to lose its IPv6 address, and require unusual setup.

even when it is in 1 hour, nobody will use the VPS for proper purposes for the next couple of weeks to see if it's really "back to normal" - so it has been unusable for at least 2 m

In theory this could be when you put all your eggs in one little basket. VPSes, own website, control panel and a VPS for BGP announcements all on 1 host. If that host gets in trouble, you're screwed.

I don't mind that they cancelled the renewals or ceased providing VPS services.
