Actually this is not a big problem, many EU and U.S. companies continue to send money to Russia. Not only for gas or oil, but also to rent/purchase various equipment, services, etc.

One thing to keep in mind is most Russian businesses and citizens aren't sanctioned. It's the big banks, oligarchs etc that are sanctioned.

There are a lot of providers in Russia that simply give 0 shits about dmca.

you can't host any type of pornography in Russia (the ISP could be fined) but you could host it in the Netherlands without any problems.

The only place that truly ignores DC is Russia. The rule of thumb: if you're based in Russia - host your sites abroad and vice versa.
