What is the use of residential ips apart from things like netflix and illegal stuff?

Legitimate and residential ip in the same sentence.. heh

Presumably it would be a business account from one of those last mile residential ISP's.

How can you even do BGP in a residential line (and why would you, even if you could)?

I'm curious what people would pay for a VPS of these specs below, but with a residential IP (no blockages).

Got an update from Heymman Servers at the same location -

Update 2: (verification)

Both are residential IP addresses as well so it’s unlikely that @deank was involved with this account.

Probably depends on ones expectations. Yours as a provider with fat upstream pipes are probably considerably higher than mine. 50 or 100 Mb/s is about the same as what higher end residential lines off

sir I can Colo u in my parents basement very redundant 100mbps residential uplink

-They asked you whats your non-VPN IP (their fault that they said "local IP" instead of "residential IP").

I am wondering if there are any ping or traceroute tools from residential asns.

We haven't seen any benefit from non-residential IPs being able to access our site. The majority (99.9%+) traffic that we see from those IPs are malicious.

Only residential IPs work.
