For China connectivity, the VPS location matters but the protocol matters even more. HK and Singapore both work, but without the right protocol you'll still get blocked.

For Reality specifically, you want a VPS with a clean IP (not datacenter-blacklisted) and at least 1 vCPU / 512MB RAM — that's more than enough for personal use.

Maybe because I use a permanent VPN on the router. But a 2$/mo VPS from a US provider
