Let me tell you a story of why you want to be on the front lines with MXroute.

Once option for self-hosting is Mailcow + mxroute, there is a topic here which explain how to set it up.

I'd second that, use something with high reputation for outbound if you're willing to host your own server. Mxroute, SES, smtp2go.

So, I'm strongly considering going with my own mailserver for inbound email, so I get exchange active sync and use mxroute as my outbound mail relay.

On deliverability if Google Workspace & Office365 score a 100, MXroute is a 98-99, we're probably in/around the 90-92 range at the moment and improving.

Right now, trying to figure out how to migrate my personal Exchange server to MXRoute.. For the work account, trying to find a way around TLS issues with sendmail.. It refuses to switch to plain-tex

I'm pretty sure one of them is my friend. He is used to mainstream email hosting services so when I introduced MXRoute by referring to this BF offer, he couldn't believe the prices.
