Where is HostBrr slower for you, the disks or the network?

I found some special offers this black Friday also 24GB ram for 8€ per month which is crazy and hostbrr storage deals fab!

I'm using koofr as rclone backend for my Immich, works way faster than HostBrr 500G storage. I guess I will wait for BF deal for similar storage and ditch HostBrr.

Just curious: how does Hostbrr feel about users torrenting on their servers (private/public)?

Hostbrr significantly cheaper

I connected my storage to owncloud via sshfs so that files are encrypted before stored on HostBrr. However the upload speed is so slow that it's barely usable for me. We'll see.

Interestingly enough, I also have the 100GB Webspace plan from HostBRR, but on that one borg does not run due to deep problems with glibc and the borg embedded python lib.

i used the username and password that hostbrr send to me. did not setup the domain. only use the ip and suggestet portnumber.

Use it as a backup, not main storage. Store your main stuff locally on a cheap NAS or something, then replicate it 1x on hostbrr, 1x at your parents home, using something like restic
