[Warning] Linveo secretly killing Annual plans with a 64% stealth price hike & dumping trashed IPs
Heads up to anyone holding an Annual plan or migrated from Arizona with Linveo. Check your billing panel before they auto-bill you.
I’ve been hosting an AMD Ryzen VPS with Linveo for 2 years:
- Nov 21, 2024: Paid $15.00/yr (Credit Card)
- Oct 18, 2025: Paid $15.00/yr (Renewal)
Earlier this year, Linveo announced the retirement of their Arizona location and moved services to Texas. Here is how they treat a loyal recurring customer:
1. Allocated a severely abused IP
The new Texas IP (23.230.253.x) came heavily blacklisted and abused (Scamalytics fraud score 70+, previously used as a public game server). When asked to swap this dirty IP, staff replied:
"IP changes are $3/each. We are moving away from annual packages, so your billing is monthly."

2. Stealthily converted Annual to Monthly (64% Price Hike)
Ahead of my Nov 21 renewal, I checked the panel and saw they quietly changed my package term to:
1 Month @ $2.05
This secretly turns a $15/year recurring service into $24.60/year (+64% price hike), completely ignoring two years of consecutive $15 annual receipts right in their own portal!

3. Staff's outright gaslighting
When challenged on this unilateral contract change, support staff (Adam Bednar) doubled down and wrote:
"We do not have contracts with you. The payment term is monthly."

Summary
Make sure to check your control panel and remove your payment methods from their portal. Linveo has zero respect for recurring terms.

I'll just add the same reply here since you decided to post it twice.
Hello,
Your billing amount is higher due to your package having 50GB instead of the 25GB allocated for 1GB plans. You were under-billed for two years.
We gave you an opportunity for a refund or migration and now five months later you claim we are scamming you after you chose the migration.
what an odd thing to complaint, provider can change price anytime they want as long as they honor your already-paid service. if you want to continue using their service after price changes then it's your call to pay the new price or not upon next renewal.
if they forced you to pay for more in the middle of already-paid invoice period however, that's where it's wrong.
ayylmao. so it wasnt secret at all. would be nice if you have proof / page that the 50GB indeed cost more than 25GB (what a strange thing to ask too, but you can't reason with mjj that already arguing in bad faith)
Yes. Don't forget about this
"We do not have contracts with you"
WHHHAT?
Brother, what did you smoke
1. The "50GB" was YOUR OWN promotional "Free Double Disk" offer on LowEndTalk!
You claimed in ticket and here:
Are you seriously telling the entire LET community that when customers participated in Linveo's official LET "reply for free double disk" promotional campaign, they were actually "under-billed for two years"?!
You offered the double resource promo on this very forum to attract buyers, honored the $15/yr recurring price for 2 years, and now you weaponize your own free promo to justify a 64% price hike and stealth conversion to monthly billing?
2. The "Arizona Discontinuation" Lie
On May 1, 2026, Linveo emailed me stating:
You forced me to relocate to Texas, where you dumped a heavily blacklisted IP on me and demanded $3 to clean it up.
Yet, looking right at your latest promotional thread on LowEndTalk (Thread #213583):
"Linveo.com - Intel KVM VPS ... Ohio - Texas - Arizona"
You are STILL actively marketing and selling Arizona location nodes to new buyers!
So you fabricated a "datacenter closure" just to disrupt grandfathered annual clients and force them onto higher monthly rates?
3. Moving the goalposts three times:
To everyone on LowEndTalk: If you received a "Free Double Resource" promo from Linveo, beware. According to Linveo, you are being "under-billed" and they will secretly convert your annual plan into a monthly price hike at renewal.
Hmm the plot thickens.
Are you sure it was a promotion? i cant find any such thing from them apart from bandwidth.
Now, i assume you didnt respond within time and they, as they said in the email, force-migrated you that way?
The old posts do mention arizona, the most recent one doesnt. You cant even order them.
That said, its still hilarious of that person to state "We do not have contracts with you". That do be a massive red flag.
Its seem that OP apply for double bandwidth but @lnx apply double storage instead.
So this is on @lnx end and i think he should honor the promotion (or not)

@simwiki
It's discretionary. Not listed on the LET deal.
Wow, two scoops
OHHHHHH!!!
Plenty of providers offer recurring discounts early on. Sure, they can pull them later, and people have every right to call them out so future buyers know what they're getting into. Definitely hurts buyer confidence. Though from what we're seeing now, that's not even the real issue here...
$9.60 a year difference and pages of drama, LET never changes. tbh if a promo price isn't written on the offer page i'd always assume it ends at the next renewal
It’s not about the money; it’s about the principle. Besides, the provider also repeatedly confirmed in the thread that it’s recurring.
Thanks to @kenjing789, @rpqu, and @Letranger for pointing out the facts and looking out for the community.
Let’s address the claims made by @lnx directly with verified facts and ticket records, so there is zero room for misdirection:
1. The "Under-billed for 50GB Disk" False Narrative
@lnx claims that I was "under-billed for two years" and that having 50GB disk instead of 25GB was an error or oversight. This is completely false.
2. The Involuntary Migration & Contradictory "Location Discontinuation"
I was instructed to migrate away from Arizona under the premise that the Arizona location was being discontinued. Yet Linveo is actively marketing and selling Arizona Ryzen VPS stock right here on LET (e.g. Thread #213583). If Arizona is truly retired, why are Arizona nodes still being actively sold to new customers?
3. Substandard Replacement Network & Dirty IP
The replacement Dallas node assigned to me (
23.230.253.x) arrived with severe latency fluctuations, high packet loss, and high fraud scores (flagged across multiple fraud databases). Downgrading an existing customer to a degraded IP pool while forcing an involuntary datacenter move is unacceptable.4. The Core Issue: Unilateral +64% Price Hike & Billing Cycle Tampering
Regardless of any disk upgrades granted via official promotions, the primary dispute remains simple:
If a host can retroactively modify recurring contracts, reclassify previously approved forum promo perks as "billing errors," and raise prices by 64% without warning during forced migrations, no recurring deal on LET is safe.
Honoring recurring contractual terms and maintaining business integrity should not be optional.
i wonder if let offer posts should be required to state a minimum amount of renewals to claim recurring.
Firstly ... I would never accept orders from this kind of names.. eg. xkw
I think I might side with mjj for once.
^ Over giving resources, you can't cope with for 1x or 2x of the plans renewal is purely on the provider, giving deals away is one providers need to stop acting "innocent" you make money. The reason u go even, or make a small loss on LET packages is the future business, advertising and spotlight you get, hate when 1-2 year later they completely act like they was begging for customers.
Now giving extra resources to those that begged, not only have you spat in the faces of your customers who did not, but that has only sped up the increased speed at which such plans die not the entire deal customer base fault but a small % you have allowed to spoil it.
Let's point out the obvious for OP too, Texas is a much cheaper overall place to operate as a host, prices shouldn't of had such a sharp increase, and no "ip change cost" should of applied to a service force migrated and forced to loose your previous IPV4 due to there operation failures.
If you give a few extra customer double resources or extra you swallow that you choice to do it, no one came and put a knife to your throat this providers constantly acting victims is boring you did it for the customer base, you did it to advertise you did it to have the SEO from LEB I can keep going stop acting like these promotions only hurt you clowns. Stop killing the plans the made you Clowns.> @ScreenReader said:
Strange thing for the provider to say yes too, clearly understand the billing difference yet do nothing. Give him and countless other's free upgrades while those that didn't beg got nothing. Now provider is forcefully raising prices, after a force DC migration? you defend this? you limp dick
And if true OP's previous DC did not shutdown and they are still taking on other clientel this host is pure garbage trash.
@lnx
@yoursunny add to list of liberals
That is a seriously good idea.
The rules should have clear definitions of terms such as recurring, lifetime, double resources etc. If the provider does not agree with the definitions stated in the rules they are not allowed to use those terms in their promotions. That way everyone agrees on what is being sold/purchased.
It's the bare minimum people here forget how much LET actually impacts a host, wether there "offers" make money or not, it's a very large audience, the entire community knows someone else in tech it's a breeding ground of forever loyal customers.
What once was dignity has disappeared in 2022-2026, now one has pride anymore they are willing to cut loose of everything that made them in seconds.
lot of these deals could run on an old node for 30-40$/month cost to host bar the hardware, yet they rather claim that hardware back it's not a surprise the majority of cancellations are happens after AI boom DC costs haven't really changed, BW, Power all pretty much the same even IPV4 space plummeted.
yet all these already paid servers, already hosted are suddenly costing the provider 10x as much as it's impossible, why do people here let these retards bare face lie to them? they aren't no business savants they are leaches begging for pennies.
absolutely and was this really not already a thing? holy wild wild west batman.
Haha appreciate the objectivity mate! It really isn't about being cheap, it's about basic business integrity and holding providers accountable to their own word.
Spot on @LEBUserJoe — you hit the nail right on the head. They reap all the forum hype, community goodwill, and SEO from offering "double resources", and then two years later weaponize their own promo to claim customers were "under-billed". Forcing an involuntary move, dumping a trashed IP, and then demanding $3 to fix their own mess is just ridiculous.
100% agree with @zed and @rcy026. If LET rules don't define "recurring" and hold providers accountable for stealth cycle conversions, hosts will just keep using cheap promos as bait-and-switch. Transparency protects everyone here.
Still waiting for @lnx to explain how an officially approved promo ticket (#5387790) magically turned into an "under-billing error", or why Arizona is still being actively marketed if it was supposedly decommissioned. The silence speaks volumes.
Hello,
I changed your billing for you if you want to continue. I am unable to edit post titles, so that is why the thread remains with the Arizona location.
That's really about all I can do now. If you want to continue, cool. If not, that's fine too. Good luck!
LOL, I normally just sit back, grab my popcorn, and enjoy reading LET, but I had to jump in on this one. 😂
This exact mentality is one of the reasons so many providers have stopped posting on LET, and I suspect this Black Friday will be a pretty good example of that. I'm expecting fewer deals than people are hoping for.
You keep saying these providers already paid for their servers, so somehow their costs haven't changed. Okay, let's go with that logic for a second.
Let's say your $10/year or $20/year VPS is running on one of those already-paid-for DDR4 or DDR5 nodes, and a RAM stick fails tomorrow. Does the replacement magically cost what it did just last year, because the server was already paid for? Or should the provider explain to the supplier that their customer only pays $10/year and ask for a discount? 😂
And how exactly did you determine that bandwidth, electricity, and datacenter costs haven't changed?
Here's a real example. Almost exactly one year ago, I purchased 2 x 128GB RAM kits for $336 each. Today, I'm seeing the same capacity listed for $3,899. That's $672 for 256GB back then versus $7,798 at today's listed price. I've attached a screenshot for you, just in case you want to visit the reality the rest of us are living in, its 10x today. 😂
And it's not just RAM. Drives, motherboards, replacement components, power, and other operating expenses don't come with lifetime price guarantees just because a server was purchased years ago.
Now let me ask you something. Has your $10/year or $20/year LET VPS increased by 10x? 8x? 7x? Even 5x? Of course not.
Nobody is saying every provider is perfect or every price increase is justified. But expecting providers to absorb every rising cost indefinitely while customers continue demanding more resources for fewer pennies isn't exactly a sustainable business model.
LET used to be a great place for providers and customers alike. But when every deal is expected to be cheaper than the last, and providers are called liars or leeches for trying to run an actual business, don't be surprised when they stop showing up.
Some folks have become so focused on saving pennies that they've completely lost touch with what it costs to keep the lights on.
Anyway, back to my popcorn. 🍿😂
