Is Dedirock and Racknerd run by same people?

I noticed they have the same coupon code with same offers.

Dedirock even publishes about Racknerd on their blog.

https://dedirock.com/blog/racknerd-expands-global-presence-with-new-data-center-launch-in-dublin/

Just curious. I have seen people comparing them and even fighting which one is better.

Yeah, there are some interesting similarities like that. Purple Daddy and Daddy Rock both resell HostPapa I think.

DaddyRock cannot be AI, he is not advanced enough to be AI but purpledaddy can, he looks very advanced and professional.

In my view purpledaddy runs the show and DaddyRock is his sidekick.

  • I've suspected Dedirock was an AI-only marketing experiment of Racknerd from the start. (Nothing wrong with that, I was a Racknerd customer in the past and they gave me what I paid for, and I didn't pay a lot). If Dedirock is just an outfit trying to look like Racknerd I would think the lawyers would have put a stop to it by now.

Hi @rumpum -- happy to clear this up! RackNerd is not affiliated with Dedirock or any other hosting brands in any way.

Looking at your examples, it does seem they've taken quite a bit of inspiration from our website elements, offers, and promotional style. We've seen other providers do the same over the years too, so I can understand why you're asking :)

We're all for seeing others succeed, and we've even helped other providers within this community along the way. We wish success to every company putting in the work to help make this community what it is -- we all deserve to win!

By the way, many of you here have been with RackNerd from our early days. Fast forward to today, we've been recognized among America's fastest-growing private companies on the Inc. 5000 for three consecutive years in a row: https://www.inc.com/profile/racknerd-llc

We sincerely appreciate everyone who's supported us along the way, and we're not taking our foot off the gas. We'll continue to flourish and prosper, and keep doing our part to give back to the community too. 👊

I want to believe you, but then why would they publish a blog post celebrating your expansion?

And even if it is run by you, that’s not a bad thing at all. You’re doing a great job with RackNerd. I was just curious and wanted to know if we could reach out to you if we ever run into an issue with DediRock.

Hello, great question. As others have suggested, and aside from the blatant inspiration, there seems to be AI involved, so to answer your question, something there must of went wrong. Or perhaps, it was entirely intentional in hopes to leverage a PR of ours, so that it could “rank” with their brand. Whatever it may be, we wish them success, and ultimately want the community to win, perhaps Dedirock can hop in and explain better as we cannot comment on the health, nor the longevity of their brand.

  • Interesting thread...

"Dedi Rock LLC" bills under the name "Atlas Cloud LLC" which also happens to have a name collision with https://www.atlascloud.ai/ an AI company in Menlo Park, CA (appears unrelated)

The dedirock.com whois points to atlascloud.tech emails, and a 949 (California) area code. However search also found the company info with a phone number hosted by https://telnyx.com/ with area code 954, in Broward County, Florida.

Atlas Cloud LLC is registered at a co-working space in Clearwater, FL as well as two other company names with Danny Dahl as the owner.

What does it all mean? IDK. Probably nothing. Hopefully this post is okay and not considered doxxing.

  • A domain is not always a company, in computing terms its more like a subfolder in a company folder. Targeting different markets, one focusing on dedicated colocation the other on low end, low bandwidth vps-es, the other more windows customers,etc...

Welp... went down a rabbit hole after this. Better than brainrot binge-watching yet another Netflix show I guess. I also found this:

Have you considered taking a chunk of that revenue growth and offering premium VPS plans with Genoa/Turin/Venice or Ryzen 9 processors?
