Is there any free api or paid one to check if an email exist?
I want to ask if there is free tools or paid one to reliably check if an email is exist, I'm hosting this https://github.com/reacherhq/check-if-email-exists before but I don't know but the docker container keep getting shut down and it's unreliable.

You could ask an LLM, that's a task it should be able to handle, to code you a small API with that feature.
Creating a Python script that checks via SMTP verify should be easy enough. No need for docker or somesuch.
If you are using Amazon SES, they provide this:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/dg/email-validation.html
Also there is our beloved nerd @eva2000 with marvelous https://github.com/centminmod/validate-emails
This looks super unreliable. One of their data sources is Have I Been Pwned... just lol.
That's not how it works, that's one feature of it. From looking at the code it's doing things like faking signups for Yahoo to check if a Yahoo account exists.
IIRC yahoo returns OK instead of mailbox doesn't exist for any mailbox via smtp instead of telling you, at least it used to, so people abuse side channels like this
Funnily enough, I was once developing an anti-bot system for a site that folks & companies had a financial incentive to bot... one of the recommendations I received was to check users against HIBP to see if they were real or not - the idea being that most real humans have been involved in a data breach before
An incomplete smtp conversation ought LIE with confirmation for existence challenged boxes.
How to tell us you use free webmail without saying it
Or that you foolishly use ONE box for everything. Half the population has inbuilt compartmentalization capability
LOL, just use some script and done. Why using docker for this. Omg.
import imaplib
m=imaplib.IMAP4_SSL('imap.example.com')
m.login('user','pass')
print(int(m.select('INBOX')[1][0]))
