I wonder where the breaking point is, because prices keep going up while the service gets worse, the network goes down often, and support takes an average of eight days to reply to emails (something the CEO himself recently admitted on the forum).

Prices still seem good for their root server (which are dedicated/guaranteed resources). If you don't need dedicated resources their normal VPS are still cheap. 16GB RAM for 14 euro/mo.. definitely no need for anyone to be concerned unless I'm misunderstanding something.
You are looking at their VPS Lite prices (old cpu).
Normal VPS with 16GB on a monthly contract is €26.01 + VAT.
RS with 16GB €39.33 + VAT.
The good part is that existing contracts are renewed at the old price.
Existing contracts remain unchanged (= they will not be increased)

Way too much. I'll keep my old RS, but if they also triple the price aligning to the new G12.5, I'll leave for sure. Also new storage is only 265GB (instead of 1TB), which I think is not enough for most customers.

It looks like their servers use DDR5 which is about $34 - 36/GB. So this 4GB entry level server would take about 8 months to break even and that's just for the RAM portion. There are other costs associated too. I think their prices are reasonable for the newest generation CPU and RAM.
maybe they can sell "old" CPU and RAM for "old" price, my old RS ( G11 iv ) are working fine for years, and i don't need the "newest" CPU and RAM for "newest" price
Yeah ram and flash storage prices just got insane.
Like one 128GB memory module easily costs like 4500€ on the market (I had to do with a server vendor lately, they told me list prices of 5 digits per 96GB DIMM). And that's the "oh I better should be fast to get it" price. The market is sold out. It's hard to get hundreds or thousands of those.
You need for those AMD CPUs anyway 12 or 24 dimms for optimal performance. So memory alone is 50k nowadays. Add enough flash Storage.
I guess for just the storage and memory of one server you could buy a Porsche
And the next big challenge is the Iran war with the strait of hormus.
Oil prices are also going up. That will significantly increase logistic prices to ship the hardware from China around the world.
Also oil prices will have an effect on electricity production and on the long term, electricity prices will also go up.
Let us hope that china is not going to invade Taiwan, otherwise if TSMC gets into trouble there... I don't want to think about the consequences of TSMC unable to produce...

my netcup pico is 80% more expensive than last year. But its still in LET territory < $3 dollar per month, so i didnt cancel that one. And it is one of the better LET nodes.
First it was electricity to blame in order to increase price. Now it is llm. Does anyone think that price will fall down after llm crash or ram supply re-stock?

The most laughable part is netcup ceo promises for price increase:

Can’t be there any template for price increase messages? Take a look at ovh, hetzner or leaseweb. Simple: absorb increase or gtfo.
Agree. As a consequence of the price hikes I started to use hourly paid containers to keep my idle infra ultra cheap.
If greed really did drive this decision, surely they'd adopt it for current users also at the end of their billing term? Or at least charge the new prices for upgrades (which they're not doing either..).
I have a server with them currently and I'm hanging onto that as for the price I'm currently paying it's a bargain. It's a shame about the hikes, but not really surprising, basically all companies are having to do this.
At the company I work for, buying our standard rack servers has gone up 5x the price due to all this.
The major players will not decrease the prices. They all want money money money. The small players will just have to follow them, to survive.
Also the wars will affect the prices at a finger snap.
You should have seen the prices of RAM/NVMe/SSD/HDD/GPU on both offline and online market. Every time I saw it, I feel crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
