The core of blackblaze business is storage. I doub't that ovh is putting same effort into their offering.

Yes, I use B2 for backup with rclone. Haven't seen any problems at all.

Did a test on 1GiB/sec link:
    Transferred: 4.001 GiB / 4.001 GiB, 100%, 75.260 MiB/s, ETA 0s

  • I only use B2 so far. I've had ~4TB of photos/videos stored there for like 4 years now and never had any issues.

And with the recent change, they made API transactions (Class A/B/C) completely free now, which is great.

The speed is also pretty much fine for me. I live in a 3rd world country, both up/down speeds can pretty much max out my ISP bandwidth (300Mbps).

No idea how well it'd perform if you mount it with rclone VFS and use something like jellyfin/plex to access the files tho.

thanks for the reply. one more question want to know. for the bandwidth, I see it only 3x storage. if i use it for mp4, and share the video online, seems the bandwidth will be out in one day. should i take the B2 overdrive plan?

I have no idea, honestly. I would guess if you want to use it for serving media globally, you should put something like cloudflare in front.

Do you have petabytes of videos? Overdrive requires you to commit to petabytes.

B2 is cheap and good, $7 per TB with 500( or 250? ) connections per second, free egress to cloudflare, they have EU and US endpoint, which is good for most of the world

the only thing you should care about is B2 is an US company, they don't like DMCA, just don't get DMCA complaint

not pb, about hundred videos, and 200-500mb per video, so maybe 30-100TB/month

tbh, no idea about that. I only use B2 cloud storage ($6.95/TB) for personal backups.

But anw, maybe check out cloudflare R2 if free egress is important for you.

so, you should find some DMCA ignore servers for your project, consider it's a small project, i think you need spend $80-$100 per month on servers. just do the math before you take action
