I don't really care. I'm just tired of people signing up to use LET for nothing but a marketplace. It might not be that big of a deal in that specific instance but the overall trend feeds the idiots botting any kind of nice deal there might be because they know they'll be able to resell them for profit.
Also there's just no value being provided by those drive by requesters. They come, they request, they leave. Nothing they do has any kind of use to anyone but themselves.

In some cases I'd agree. For obvious reasons, netcup is attractive to German users. So as far as reselling goes, I'd give OP benefit of the doubt
The value is that OP is literally offering payment. I don't know what their offer is, but maybe somebody has a VPS that's expiring anyways. imo it's a harmless post
It's not about @OP reselling anything but about these posts providing incentive to resellers.
Who knows. Theoretically it can't be more than 2x recurring costs anyways but that's obviously something neither these drive by posters nor the resellers care about. In general i can't agree about the willingness to pay improving things. Actually it would be better if @OP offered nothing at all since it wouldn't make getting him a deal monetarily attractive.
I don't really like putting up a lot of hard rules but i'm this close from suggesting to put the same requirements on requests as there already is for offers (3 month old account + 60 non-spammy posts).
That's for offers. As in, it mostly applies to threads created under the service transfers category. In this case, people can ask OP for whatever they want via DM
It's for service transfers. There's nothing but downside to split hairs over this. Nothing good ever came from open ended deals. Nothing. LET is not a marketplace.

There is no DM exclusion. Actually those rules would be worthless if that were the case as they would effectively read as nothing but "refuse to state a price in public" but in the end it doesn't really matter that much to me anyways. I don't like the practice and i'd wish those guys would just leave or even better: Never sign up to begin with. There's just no value being provided and the chances for anti-value exist, so whats the point? (rhetorical question)

Can you point to some kind of official statement supporting this point of view? I mean sure, trying to enforce it is futile but like i said excluding DMs basically means that you might as well just delete the rule as it serves no purpose.
Enforcement of pretty much anything around here is lax. Just yesterday the request thread of a guy getting $200 offers/stating he was prepared to pay 3 digit sums was deleted, so what? A lot of this just comes down to how much dust you kick up. "I saw this once and nothing happened" is not much of a measure.

OVH dedis are the best example. When a rare KS is transferred, the deal almost always happens through DMs. That's because it wouldn't be allowed otherwise

It sure would be allowed if people didn't try to make it into a business. A server you no longer need is just that and not some kind of investment, so just transfer it to some thankful community member. $10 should be enough to compensate for the effort regardless of what it is you are transferring.
