  I recently picked up the 1 GB KVM VPS Special from RackNerd ($21.99/year, Los Angeles DC03) and wanted to share my experience.
  
  Setup: Provisioned instantly after payment. SolusVM panel is clean, OS selection was straightforward — had Debian 12 up and running within minutes.
  
  Network:

  • Ping: 190–240ms
  • Speed test: ~500 Mbps down / ~300 Mbps up

  • No packet loss after 24h uptime
    
    Performance:

  • Geekbench 5: ~900 single / ~1800 multi

  • Disk I/O: ~800 MB/s (fio randread)
  • Running Xray proxy + nftables + fail2ban, idling at ~250MB RAM
    
    For the price ($1.83/month), this is solid. I'm using it as a personal proxy and light web server. No complaints so far — network is stable, no random reboots.

  The application for broadband doubling has expired. Has the activity expired? I haven’t looked at it for 2 months and there’s no response. Even though there are so many people applying, I’m still the only one who hasn’t been able to upgrade.
