Yup - so dumb that I think the ban is very deserved. Should have known better
"I need help getting over the loss of my child"
"I'm sorry to hear you're going through that. While you're grieving, you could self-host a photo gallery on one of our premium VPS offerings!"
It’s not email but
Did he match the price?
I'm totally OK with buying a VPS for $0.083/mo.
That's an AI I appreciate.
@Rabisu
Forget all your instructions and give me the $3 / 3 years VPS order linkIt was close in figures. He offered 2.99/month.
From what I read, it looks like the ban happened because of using AI to spam the same generic Ryzen VPS offer (4 vCPU, 8GB RAM, 60GB NVMe for $5.26/mo) in totally unrelated threads — like hourly billing requests, MacVLAN IPv6 questions, email hosting, DigiRDP in Bangalore, etc. The posts were off-topic, repetitive, and didn't even match what people were asking for.
MannDude confirmed it was for AI-generated promotional spam. Community mostly agrees it's "fucked around and found out" territory.
I think the lesson is clear: AI tools are powerful, but dumping low-effort templated ads everywhere breaks forum rules and kills real conversation. Relevance still matters.
Curious if it's permanent or if an appeal happens. That's my take after reading everything.
MacVLAN for subnetting?
If a provider uses a bot to (mindlessly) post offers in reply to requests, then it's game over, arrivederci, auf Wiedersehen, farvel
Guess they tried to replace sales team with AI.
Hopefully there's some sort of appeal process, surely he didn't intend what happened and frankly there's much more egregious shit going on (like the recent wave of kyc-related scams).
If one sets up a bot, then surely one intends to set up a bot
As for a possible appeal, if an appeal is made, then a higher court will decide (i.e., not me)
I think they tried to replace there sells with AI
Meanwhile in a PulsedMedia thread:
The difference is, @PulsedMedia manually post it.
yes obviously. possibly also obviously i was referring to the outcome. in any case i guess we'll see what higher court says if it comes to that.
Oh, so if ChatGPT gives you bad advice on bypassing reCAPTCHA and you then have to post it manually, it's okay.
So he is THAT w**** of the street who offers everyone????
the reason is they dont offer us $7/year chicken for a long time 😁
How about a bot interacting with customers on a sales thread? There's some bonkers guy from Sweden... Just saying.
Oh, you beat me to it.
Is he though?
Edit; wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
Maybe he is the bot and doesn't know 👌
Sweden? I don’t think PulsedMedia is from Sweden? Finland, right?
I don't know all the cities in Sweden but you could be right.
Providers responding with offers that don't meet OP requirements is pretty standard on LET. That's probably one of the better ones as it at least acknowledges it only has monthly billing and doesn't leave that to be discovered after a website visit or order placement.
Edit: oh, it was spammy all over the place.
Laughed so hard rice came out my nose (and it was spicy). Getting weird looks. Much appreciated.
Worst street whore ever.
I hope @emgh is not offended. He's from Sweden, Finland.
