    I experienced it too

  • The support department is too slow, if used for business purposes it is not good

If you use such service for business - it is entirely your own fault. Email service stability and competence can only be observed throw time. Choose time proven service providers. I use mxroute.

I am using namecrane and mxroute both for my domains I would say namecrane was 10 time better in terms of spam filtering and no email lost . Support was fairly quick to my tickets.

  • First, there's the question of whether the service can be accessed at all. Second is the question of whether it functions as expected if it can be accessed.

Namecrane sometimes has delays, will be felt while waiting for OTP. but this is the first time it's been so bad.

I can access the webmail, but it feels slow. However, when I send an email, it doesn't send. It's been over an hour, and when I tested to receive an email, no email came in either.

I wonder if it's so unstable that the simple act of trying to use it makes it worse.

  • Namecrane Amsterdam, I tested and have no issue with forward aliases (sending mail to my domain, received it in a few minutes). This morning I had an issue but it was because of spam experts on my side.
I started using it days ago, so still light use on my side.

Is anyone else having issues accessing namecrane.com? I’m unable to log in to my account, so I can’t create a support ticket. Emails have been delayed by up to 5 hours, this should have been resolved sooner.

    @Francisco, any update?

Edit: Can access namecrane.com now. But mails are still not being received.

It is when it is not. Everyone face some dark days, but some handle those dark days with notifications, fast support - others will handle this with silence, delayed support. If it is acceptable for you - good. I value my email and delivery / receiving is very important. Used google and outlook.

In 2023 migrated few business domains to mxroute - felt the same quality as it was with gmail in terms of uptime.

Best of luck with your provider.

    Sorry about that.

We updated a few days ago to the latest smartermail. We do it as a slow roll out (pick a random node, apply it there, see if something breaks) and it seems there was an edge case that is making 1 domain not work properly.

Not thinking much of it I performed a downgrade last night which we've done in the past. It didn't like that (likely because it went .NET 10 -> 9).

I was driving yesterday from 330AM until ~11PM with only 2 x 20 minute naps, so once i finished the downgrade I went straight to bed. Mike woke me a around 3 - 4AM to look at it and pushed the same upgrade again.

I think what ended up happening with the downgrade is that it kicked off a mass re-indexing of everyones inbox (format changes, etc), which would explain the 1GB - 2GB/sec sustained reads the array was doing.

Didn't see issues with the site, but if you want to PM me your IP I can look to see if you hit a firewall rule.

You overpay dearly, but sleep well. I love sleepless nights and use low end providers.

  • I prefer to give my money to the likes of Namecrane and Mxroute than to those huge corporations.

Mxroute has served me exceptionally well since 2018 - more stable than Gmail.

Namecrane's Cranemail - well, obviously, it's a bumpy start. I hope it gets sorted out.

  • Will NameCrane provide an alert when it's safe to use SmarterMail again?

Its all fine minus Exim, fixing that.

We had prepped an OS upgrade (RHEL8->RHEL9) and were going to announce the upgrade in a few days. Node locked up (reason why we're wanting to upgrade), and rebooted, kicking off the upgrade.

Lets see if the new kernel fixes the cloudlinux issues we’ve had :) I’m hoping to start rolling others soon, especially lu02.
