Mini (positive) review on inbox.eu mail hosting

Someone asked me earlier to write a review about inbox.eu, and I figured now would be a good time to do that.

I can say with confidence that the service is really reliable. So far, I haven't faced any problems whether it's sending or receiving emails. The spam filtering is also much better than what Hetzner offered, which is what I used before inbox.eu.

The storage per mailbox is quite generous too—100 GB, and at a very reasonable price. Plus, the control panel is easy to use. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my switch to this service.

The only drawback for me is that it doesn’t support CalDav or CardDav—I can't recall which one exactly—but these were important features when I was looking for an alternative to Hetzner. Eventually, I started using Nextcloud (with Hetzner Storage Share) for managing my calendars and contacts, and everything works well.

That’s about it—a short review, but hopefully useful if you're considering email hosting providers or thinking of changing from your current one.

  • Looks pretty cool ngl! They even have an API (https://api.inbox.eu/api/v1/doc/). API is one of the reasons I'm sticking with Purelymail but this looks like a decent alternative. Could you tell a little about their "Storage and sharing" (https://www.inbox.eu/en/info/business#features)? How is that so far?

Told ya that they are reliable. What's your opinion about the spam filter?

I ddin't even notice they have an API :p I haven't explored the file storage and sharing either, actually didn't look into it at all since I use Nextcloud for that.

Never seen a false positive so far, and only occasionally (rarely) I saw a spam email in the inbox. It's definitely a good service.

  • I'm wondering, how is inbox.eu different than mail.ee and inbox.lv? All of them seem to have the same web interface for email and the two latter offer free plans (20Gb) which is generous. However I've received lots of spam recently (yes, all of them landed correctly in my "Spam" folder but still).

They have the same parent company.

Same experience here. I hate it when there's a false positive.

Just different targets. .lv is targeting Latvian people, .eu is targeting international/European customers. Afaik they said this when they opened inbox.eu
