Looking for a Website Monitoring Tool Recommendation
Hello everyone,
I’m on the hunt for a reliable website monitoring tool and would love some recommendations. My primary goals are to track uptime, and be alerted immediately for any issues. The websites are on shared web hosting.
Bonus points for features like traffic monitoring, user behavior insights, or any unique functionalities you’ve found useful!
It can be both Saas or Self-hosted.
Here are a few things I’m looking for specifically:
- Real-time Alerts: Preferably via email.
- Customization: Would be great if I can set custom thresholds for alerts.
- Ease of Use: Simple UI for setup and daily use.
- Scalability: Ideally something that can do hundreds/thousands of websites.
What tools have you all tried, and what do you recommend? Any insights, pros/cons, or personal experiences with particular services would be really helpful!
Thanks in advance!

Nixstats , notifications can be mail, SMS, telegram and bunch of other tools
It's kind of dead project, but still works fine
HetrixTools or Uptime Kuma (self-hosted).
statuscake
uptime kuma ;nezha monit
Update Kuma
Updown.io
Uptime Kuma - Its Free, Easy Setup & Amazing !
HetrixTools
HetrixTools
BetterStack
Thanks. Seems like HetrixTools for SaaS and Uptime Kuma for self-hosted get the most votes.
In addition to HetrixTools you can also look at UptimeRobot and Pulsetic.
For self-hosted I wouldn't recommend anything other than Uptime Kuma but for the sake of completeness, there's:
Gatus
OpenStatus - super unfriendly to self-host rn.
Cachet.
Honestly, even though you need to self-host it, Uptime Kuma is the GOAT so far.
Thank you, @xmok
I will try OpenStatus
https://www.openstatus.dev/
You can consider the options I have suggested and sorted from the lists below. I think you will definitely find a suitable solution for yourself from the options offered.
Can be used for free or very cheap
Not expensive and quite average in price
+1 Hetrixtools
Zabbix, self-hosted
Freshping and Uptimerobot
Well I'm using uptime kuma.
Hetrixtools With telegram alerts
Nixstats or Hetrixtools both work with Telegram alerts for simple website/server monitoring. You can also use UptimeRobot but with less features. All are self-hosted
Thanks for all the answers! I will test a few and then stick with one.
How did this go?
uptime kuma
