Suble.io - avoid

LeviLevi Member

So, on Ipv6 discord I received recommendation to use suble.io. This is DK provider. Offer was not bad 10 DKK for 1c/1g/15GB NVMe - perfect for secondary nameserver. Settled in. Few months passed email about IP change arrived. Ok, few hours gone to reconfigure whole shitcluster with new IP.

Not long after that random server shutdowns began. And after creating ticket in discord (!) I was informed that non-DK clients will be booted out from March, 2024. And I did not receive email because my customer details somehow was set wrong...

TLDR: service run by amateur, not suitable for production. Maybe, only maybe for testing.

No YABS, due to server destruction and account closure.

Well to be fair, for 1.30€ a VM in Denmark, it was stable enough.
However, just stopping the VM a bunch of times without any info is a killer.

Not as worse as BuyVM, where my VM also just get stopped, its not that often though.

Meh, I’m so done with ”stable enough”

Thank god someone else was experiencing this, makes me think all the people who use BuyVM for prod are crazy! I tried using one of their VMs and ended up needing 4-5 support tickets within the year since my VM would be shut down and needed support to intervene. Felt like a big prank or something.

It was like this for years. I don't hate Fran for cashing out, running a hosting company isn't too fun, especially in the long term. He built something up from nothing, even if I don't really love what he ended up building I can still respect the work that went into it. Every hosting company gets bought and enshittified eventually, look at ColoCrossing (although I think they're still fine for now) or Paperspace, or countless others. It's just a part of life. Not really worth getting upset over, just curious that people were treating buyvm as some insanely good prod ready host considering how jank the underlying infrastructure was/is. They're one of the least stable LE* hosting providers I've ever used, at least.

Pls link me to the comment where Francisco said "I sold BuyVM to Cloudzy and Namecrane is hosted on Cloudzy's infrastructure."

As I recall, he announced Buyshared becoming Namecrane and totally skipped over why that was and proceeded to let BuyVM collect dust as it has for at least a year in limbo.

Nothing wrong with selling your company. But the customers deserve to know who you've sold their data to if you care about them.

Lol, Francisco told me BuyVM was sold in May of 2023 and that comment is from March 8th, 2024.

His wordage in that comment literally says:

"Yes, he's interested in BuyVM, and He'd be a good owner to it too. He's close to my beliefs in most things, and even a bit more so given where he's grown up. The guys seen some shit.

There was a deal agreed to but as of now the part for the VPS side so He can plan things out logistically. Will he buy it? I'm sure in time. But, anyone wanting to buy us would be keeping everyone onboard for years to at least guide things plan wise, location wise, feature wise, and franning wise."

    This is from 08/08/23:

    This message:

Was sent one month before that paperwork was filed by Karen, who as mentioned in that comment is also a shareholder of Namecrane:

But keep it a secret. BuyVM totally isn't sold.

P.S. If Francisco made that "public announcement" like he said he was going to in January then I would have never had to post the truth. More than 6 months is plenty of time to post that you've sold your company.

Any time we catch a node crash we run a mass boot. It's possible a node reboots in the middle of the night so that'd be missed. If you got a ticket I can take a look :) Thanks.

Namecrane was registered in Wyoming in 2021, you can look it up on their business search page. The 2023 was us needing actual notarizing to submit to ICANN. Since Wyoming allows basically anonymous companies, you don't have notarized papers before hand.

Routerhosting colocates with us in all locations. They rent us a bit of space in the UK to test the market before we commit to more. Once we're happy with things we'll split that to our own racks with Zare.

What does this have to do with Suble.io?

P.S. I too also call my colocation clients boss (which you've been doing since at least 07/12/23).

I call everyone boss, you can find it on here, discord, WHT, etc.

Remember what I said in the other thread. I said the deal was going through, then it was delayed for the BuyVM side. I also said I have no doubt he'll complete the deal in time.

I've known Hannan since before BuyVM. He's good people.

Both you and I know you weren't using "boss" in that context there. You act like I didn't get all of this straight from the horse's mouth.

Regardless of what I say, you're going to deny that shit, because it's in your benefit to do so:

The goal is to keep you around because it's known your personal brand is stronger than the BuyVM brand. You want people to keep thinking it's yours, and I realized that after you didn't announce it in January.

I used to have a lot of respect for you, but I realized you're just another grifter, no better than the other grifters you criticize here.

Both you and I know the truth here, but what happens in the future when it turns out everything I'm saying is true? Are you just going to skip over the part where you were denying you sold out?

    I'm guessing so...

Alright, my bad @Levi 💀 I'm off this for real.

Looks like their DHCP server is also broken since 2 days.
I didn't noticed it at first however since my server got stopped for no reason, its also not longer getting a IPv4 address allocated via DHCP.

Whatever did took place 2 days ago, something broke big time.

Their DHCP is broken, they still give me an IP address from the old prefix they discontinued weeks ago. It was working though, no idea why its broken again.

My Mesh just switched to IPv6 only, didn't notice it sadly soon enough.
    Definitely a premium experience.
