  • As a customer with a VDS in Dronten, I will provide feedback as a comparison in the servers.

Hardware is very similar and high spec as detailed in the yabs results posted by several already.

Speed test from the UK is not far behind Dronten which you would expect with it being further inland adding around 5-6ms.

Would make for a great location for those UK & EU based looking for services. Personally, I would keep with Dronten as its marginally quicker for me but its so marginal I doubt anyone would notice it.

Please count me out of the giveaway I would not have any use for it.

  • I am very lucky to have obtained a test model!

I live in China. In order to learn and communicate, I often deal with VPS.

The performance of the 7702P processor is very good, saving a lot of time for running scripts.

Of particular note is the SKYLINK DATA Center, which has a latency of 180ms compared to my local settings, making my access to github and youtube very smooth.

Thank you for providing the testing VPS, and I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

    Thanked by 1mxmla
  • Thanks for the 24 hour free test! Network and disk seems really fast.

I did find some problems. On the https://my.server-factory.com/knowledgebase/article/3/dns-recursor--amp--ntp/ page, I can't seem to get any of the DNS recursors or NTP servers to respond!

I think it would be nice if there was a 'copy' option for values like IPv6 address and root password.

Bonus points if we can upload an ssh public key and skip the whole root password thing.

NoVNC worked, but I didn't see any clipboard support. I'm nearly certain I've seen NoVNC with clipboard...maybe a newer version? Or maybe I'm confused. (I'd also prefer using my local VNC client, but I realize that's a big ask.)

No DHCP...I'm fine with this during normal operation, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it when installing from ISO.

I ran the CAIDA spoofer test--looks good. (Results at https://spoofer.caida.org/report.php?sessionkey=8431xo3jqfspzn )

If you're going to do IPv6 only, you might want to consider offering a NAT64 resolver.

Ports blocked: I think I was able to reach out on 23, 110, 143, 993, and 995, but not on 25, 465, or 587. Inbound, I think ports 23, 25, 110, 143, 465, 587, 993, 995 were all available. Maybe allow 587 outbound if someone has been around a while and proven trustworthy? (I sometimes find it nice to be able to send email to my mail server once in a while.)

Ran tcpdump and grabbed 10k packets on an almost totally idle system. 99.2% of the packets were ARP requests!

    Obligatory YABS:
