Shared hosting and DNS?
I am switching to Cpanel and DirectAdmin, time will tell which one I will settle on eventually.
What I want to do is to use external DNS to map onto the addon domains and subdomains within CPanel and DirectAdmin.
Since most of the domains are registered elsewhere and I am familiar with the external providers DNS configurations I would rather manage things from there.
I suspect that some built-in automated settings like Lets Encrypt, DKIM etc may be more difficult, but if such issues were not important would it be feasible?
PS. Is it possible for CPanel/DirectAdmin to delegate nameserver handling for subdomains to either DNS servers and vice versa?

So use your preferred DNS provider and call it a day.
