I know nothing about WireGuard, but your box seems to have DNS problem.
Check firewall rules perhaps?
I have the same problem but on Debian 10. In my case, ufw caused the issue. So I add rules:

If running a personal vpn, would you guys recommend Wireguard or OpenVPN? I am using both but have no idea which is better in what area.
I use Wireguard for both surfing and accessing private network. No more ports opened to public other than 80, 443, and Wireguard port itself.
I don't know about technical stuff. But Wireguard Android app consume less battery than OpenVPN. At least for my device
