LAUNCH - CloudCommando finally arrives on the lean, mean streets of LET!
Advertising Narrator: Has this ever happened to you?
It all started one cold, winter night. All the SysOps team snored in their warm beds and the NetOps team slept on their keyboards. DevOps was on a long vacation to Switzerland and wouldn't be back for a while.
All seemed peaceful, all seemed quiet. The quiet hum of the server room (basement) lulled even the security guard to sleep. Suddenly, all was quiet for one moment.
Wait. All was quiet? That can't be right. The silence was broken less than a second later when over a thousand hard drives, fans spun down simultaneously, and the server room was plunged into darkness.
Guess everyone in IT is getting coal this year.
Advertising Narrator: Well, this could easily have been avoided if this IT team was using CloudCommando, the best service available to any Sys/Dev/NetOps member and their team. It puts you ahead of the game, better than all the rest.
Advertising Narrator: And now.... You can get it!
Yes, that's right guys. You can order the $4/yr Small Plan right now! But it's limited stock, with only 10 available.
Click here to grab yours for only $4 a year!
Wait, what do I get?
You get your own Observium install on your own isolated machine. This means that you control your data, and rule over your monitoring! No more paying per device!
Storage? What's this?
You get rsync access to Enterprise level NetApp storage, that will allow you to store critical files and ensure that your data is always safe.
Where?
Our first location is Scranton, PA for Observium. Sydney, Australia and France are coming soon!
Storage is located in Atlanta, US.
Thanks,
0xdragon.
Yes, I have permission from the mods to post this offer.

Comments
I am one of the ten. Yay me.
I am the first user yay!
Got one! thank you
Paid but no active services? Are you setting these up manually?
I've also snatched one, yay
Also not showing up in active services though, but I'll just wait and be patient
Got one... I think that orders are activated manually
I got invoice 6, so im guessing 4 left?
Manual setup yes. I'm going to wait until all the orders are done (2 more).
Yes folks, be patient; this is a pre-launch, so give @0xdragon a chance to get everything provisioned.
Well hurry people! Buy the last 2 already :P
Mine was 8
@0xdragon I am just showing my enthusiasm of the project
Nice ad but without browsing your website I had no idea what it was.
I was tempted to buy 2 to split between personal and business monitoring, but given as it's limited I'm giving others a chance. Plus it is very early the US, so I'm sure they'll be gone once they wake up.
it's only a hosted observium?
Actually a fair point, the post actually omits any real information about what you're buying, kind of assumes you've read the pre-release thread.
My biggest apologies. My first time doing this, so I appreciate the feedback. I'll make sure to update it now!
These buttons / links don't appear to be working.
It's not a big deal this time due to the small number of plans, you could have just put up a thread that said 'CloudCommando - GO!' and you'd have sold out, but for the future definitely better to list the features, location of the servers, etc.
Still working out the kinks. If you'd like some storage, hit the no storage button and select it on the order form. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Quantity limit reached. If possible, please select a smaller quantity.
I'll tell you how good it is, don't worry ;-)
"Quantity limit reached. If possible, please select a smaller quantity." cries I like how it says after you've put the details in
I only wanted it for monitoring
I'm sure it won't be long before there are more. Remember, this is a soft launch, so we're working out the glitches for you.
well, then, which version? Observium Community or Observium Professional
10 more to be added! I'm feeling dangerous. Orders will be processed and delivered in 20 mins. @HyperSpeed @Gerrard8
It shows in stock again @HyperSpeed @Gerrard8 @hotsnow @Nekki
For $4/yr, Community.
I'm still in talks with Observium.
You should've done it before the release
. DC / Test IPs?
I know, but I promised.
Deploying now.
I'm with GoodHosting for this first node, who has been amazing with helping me. IP: 107.182.19.193
I am waiting patiently.
What about ATL?
Lots of love for you right now!!
Cheers :-) I saw yours popup so thanks!
I'll put it here in a second, deployments need me right now
Deployment tickets should be opening now. Provide a subdomain name you'd like and everything will work!
Actually, there's a point, will there be any facility for using your down domain/sub-domain for observium?
Yes, please open a ticket once I'm done swimming through the torrent of deployments (aahhhh!)

And now you get to deal with the pain of manual deployments that I do :P.
Well you will offer another 10 plans on the hoof....I'll do it tomorrow probably, absolutely no rush.
No own domains support fuck.
This is a feature that he hopes to support in the very near future (this question was already asked, haha.)
$4/yr << buy first.. think why next...
I've been told there's only like 5 left.
Everyone can use a bit of extra monitoring, especially for a managed service at this sort of price. It really is a 'no thought required' purchase, a bit like the MXRoute Thanksgiving special.
Is there tutorial on setting up the agents?
Or should I check the website of Observium?
They send you all that information when you are deployed
.
Just for you, I've replied to your ticket
Yes, there are only 5 left. Get in quick or you'll miss out!
When we deploy you we send you the URL of the tutorial and a list of supported devices. These are both freely available on the 'net
Thanks
Sorry for omitting that line in the mail.
Very nice to see Netapp storage, what sort of Netapp kit do you use? Are you using on tap 7-mode or clustered mode?
What are the limitations, etc.?
What are monitored with website monitoring? Is this even active yet?
Hey there, this is a pre-public launch offer.
Limitations: Play fair! (http://cloudcommando.com/small_plan/)
The $12/yr plan isn't out yet, but the $4 one with just Observium is.
You can upgrade really simply by opening a ticket.
You can monitor websites (HTTP) and have notifications. Yes it's active, but not being sold yet.
I'll tell you in the morning (my time), it's 12:20AM here. Brain is all fuzzy :P
I don't know what this is.
Purchased.
Is it possible to gather storage info from a OpenVZ vps?
Is Traffic Accounting possible within Comunity Edition of Observium?
After actually reading about it now, after purchase because you know how I am, I'm behind this 110%. Way to go for launching something so uniquely relevant to the LET crowd.
Should be
Follow the guide and wait for the polling!
Unfortunately not: http://www.observium.org/wiki/Traffic_Accounting
I love you too
Maybe we'll do a joint offer sometime.
ONE MORE LEFT!
We run clustered NetApps running OnTap 7, its all fibre channel storage. We run OnTap 8 for corporate services.
I've followed the guide and added both a dedicated server and a openvz vps.
The dedi works well, however Observium can't fetch storage info of the openvz vps.
I wonder if the agent will work.
Interesting, what sort of errors are you seeing (or not seeing). Ticket in if you can
Damn, I should have read that! - How many instances do we have to buy to
convince you buying the professional edition?
Hmm damn I woke up to late for this :-P.
One more added, just for you!
I'll talk to the Observium guys
Ticketed. Thanks for your interest.
Not quick enough apparently haha, I'll manage to get one eventually.
Okay, time for some sleep.
PM me, you're going to get one.
@0xdragon: Sleep tight Mr. Fuzzy Brain.
What Netapp series do you have and what disk shells? Very hard to configure Netapp hardware for a cheap set up.
Just wanna jump in and say thanks for this unique service. Was following your other post and would be glad to see the plan with large storage to come online
@0xdragon congratulations buddy!
It's fas3250 http://www.netapp.com/us/products/storage-systems/fas3200/fas3200-product-comparison.aspx
5 MORE AVAILABLE! LAST ONES! (3 LEFT)
(2 LEFT)
(1 LEFT)
(SOLD OUT)
Just managed to get one before it ran out :P
Thanks for choosing CloudCommando. I'm always around, so you can PM me, ticket in or email. :-)
Some stock, making a total of 30. (3 left)
btw, just curious, are you using Mandrill to send emails - got the approved email, but not the setup details. However, my mailserver has recorded a mandrill email bouncing around in greylisting - wondering if that is it.
Strange, I'm new to Blesta. May the fact that I made the Deployments department non-viewable causes it to not send an email. Yep, I made a boo-boo on the email settings. All fixed now! Thanks @StartledPhoenix for spotting that
Few more things:
Few ideas on additional features
Otherwise, the observium setup seems to be quite fast.
Keep up the good work
Got mine running with a few servers added, pretty quick speed too.
HTTPS coming today or tomorrow.
Blesta sucks. Custom DNS recording coming in the next week or two, as well as a panel. :-)
@StartledPhoenix @Nekki @catalystium @BBTN @764664 @bohdans @cassa @NeoXiD @arpanjot @Gerrard8 @HyperSpeed @Infinity580 @upfreak
So, Blesta has no mass-mailing system, so I'll subscribe you all to a MailChimp list for announcements and new features/news. If you want to help out and add yourself, scroll down to the bottom of http://cloudcommando.com/ and add yourself
Thanks!

Im sure it will arrive... eventually :P
fyi the box doesn't show with adblock :-P.
Which box? The subscribe box? That's odd.
Yeah was wondering where it was, disabled adblock and then I could see it.
O.o That's strange.
There is only ONE more left of the $4 plan, so once it's gone; it's gone!
$12/year pre-sale will be available soon.
Fine, you got me
Thanks for choosing CloudCommando. I'll provision you shortly.
502 bad gateway
417 Expectation failed
And now seriously: It works for me, just a bit slow, but I'm sure that's just temporary.
We're having an issue with a process that checks for swap (we have none, so it shouldn't even run) and then kills the CPU before being picked up by anti-abuse scripts.
There's going to be a huge bugfix on Wednesday or Thursday where I'll have everything implemented and perfect.
Maybe @sparko can offer you a cheap Wildcard SSL Certificate ;-)
I signed up too> @cassa said:
I have one, works great
Yep, already got one
just working out automated SNI.
You need to enable second level quotas for openvz to work properly.
Loving the intro to the thread @0xdragon!
Got one, try to use it later :-)
Just bought the $4 plan. Going to configure and check it out tomorrow.
All storage has been deployed. Migrations are almost complete, new container information will be emailed shortly.
oops wrong post
@0xdragon

Still waiting for my one to be set upped
Not sure if you're still migrating things or i left somewhere.
Things are almost done. I want it all to be perfect before I send them out. No point migrating them in the first place otherwise :P
btw, the Owncloud install on s1 is down.
@0xdragon so what applications are available now?
TTRSS, Wallabag for example, but pretty much anything
Name it and I'll see what I can do!
ooooh no, the $4 promo ended.
@0xdragon: ETA for France?
Already here
@0xdragon: so observium small instance and storage both exist in France, too? Where/How to choose location?
Just the Observium at this point. Order and you'll automatically be put in France.
@0xdragon: I see;-) So storage only in Atlanta?
For now, yes. But I'm moving away from NetApp and building a proper storage system so that you can have a heap of space at a tiny price in many locations very soon. :-)
