Why has NO hosting provider stepped in to capture this $100M+ market?

I am beyond frustrated. Over the past few weeks, I literally threw $400 down the drain—two of my Claude accounts were permanently nuked without a refund, purely because the AI platform flagged my connection as originating from a Datacenter (IDC) IP during a temporary route switch.

To prove how absurd this situation is, here is my actual monthly breakdown just to keep my daily AI workflows running:

  • $250/month on Claude subscriptions.
  • $800/month on 4 separate OpenAI accounts.
  • $60/month for a rented US macOS instance (strictly to get a residential IP, but zero network optimization).
  • $16/month for a BandwagonHost (CN2 GIA) VPS just to relay the connection so latency isn't unusable.

That is over $1,100 every single month out of my own pocket.

And the worst part? Any slight network jitter or route fluctuation drops the chain, revealing an IDC IP or triggering a security flag. The AI platforms instantly detect the connection profile and ban our paid accounts with zero refunds.

There are an estimated 4 million developers, creators, and power users in China facing this exact nightmare daily. We are literally begging to give foreign VPS hosts and AI platforms our money, yet we get shut down at every turn.

How Hosts Can Profit Without Getting Wrecked by Abuse

If hosting providers are hesitant because they fear IP abuse, high bandwidth costs, or Spamhaus complaints, here is the exact Blueprint to build an abuse-proof, high-margin product:

  1. Targeted AI-Only Egress Routing (SNI / Domain Whitelisting):
Do not waste expensive Residential / Dual-ISP bandwidth on full-tunnel traffic. Apply Residential ASN egress strictly to AI endpoints (*.openai.com, *.anthropic.com, *.claude.ai, *.stripe.com) and basic IP reputation check sites. All general web traffic, streaming, and heavy downloads remain on standard cheap IDC routes.
  2. Hard-Edged Abuse Prevention:
    • Block All P2P/BT Torrenting: Hard-drop BitTorrent protocol packets at the edge router level.
    • Mail Port Blockade: Block outbound SMTP ports (25, 465, 587) to prevent spam complaints entirely.
    • No Open Proxies: Enforce strict client authentication so IPs don't land on public proxy blacklists.
  3. High ARPU with Near-Zero Bandwidth Overhead:
AI text/API calls consist almost entirely of light JSON tokens. Bandwidth consumption is virtually non-existent, giving hosts insane profit margins on every single node.

My Open Offer to Hosting Providers

If you are a host or network operator who wants to clean out Chinese users' wallets by solving our true pain points, DM me directly.

I know the exact technical requirements, risk-control mechanisms, routing architectures, and user psychology of this 4-million-strong market. I will personally advise you on how to structure the product, help test your IP Fraud Scores, and introduce your service directly to our technical and developer communities once verified.

Stop ignoring this goldmine. DM me, let's build an abuse-proof setup, and take this market.

Curious; how are you using the Claude subs (just via web interface or is there a method beyond that)? I assume they're retail subs? What workloads?

Considering how much you're spending on all this, I guess it indirectly implies both Claude and OpenAI are the better retails options offered at the moment.

$800/month on 4 separate OpenAI accounts.

1050 out of those were paid for subscriptions, and why the fuck you cry about IP reputation?? :D

Tell me you don't understand AI risk-control without telling me you don't understand AI risk-control. 😂

Why do I care about IP reputation? Because when your IP gets flagged as a datacenter proxy, OpenAI and Claude permanently nuke those $1,050 paid accounts without refunding a single penny.

That is literally the entire point of this thread. Paying $1,050 means jack shit if a trash IP reputation gets your paid access wiped out overnight. Try losing $400 in subs to an IDC IP ban and see if you still ask this.

I literally had to ask an AI what "MJJ" even means—turns out it's just niche forum slang for cheap VPS bargain hunters.

My circle of developers spends well over $1,000 every month on actual AI infrastructure and production engineering. We don't waste our time learning internet acronyms for $5 hosting deals.

But since you know this slang so intimately, you're clearly part of that exact bargain-chasing crowd. It's actually ironic: it's budget hoarders like you flooding these forums that cause foreign hosts to completely overlook the high-value developer market we're talking about.

Yes, I need to make edits, because you are indeed dragging down our image.

OP. I think you're in the wrong forum. This is LowEndTalk; Not HighEndTalk. It's unproductive for you to personally attack members, while seeking help.

The hard cold reality of the situation: Even if your stated number of 4 million interested customers were real. Your current payment to hosting infrastructure is less than $100/month. Say even if that value goes up, because providers offers a bespoke solution at $300/month (which is honestly on the cheap end for your requests). It's still financially not worth it for the network provider. Why? because whether they accept one or 4 million of such customers they run the risk of legal liability and being targeted by Government auditing; specifically questioning whether they're knowingly aiding customers outside the supported countries in accessing intentionally restricted technology.

Heres a question for you @baoweise. If you know what to do... Why don't you do it?!
Now as far as Claude, Gemini, Grok goes. I use a "DC IP" at all times and non of them have issues.

I don't know what you're talking about, start using AWS JP region. There's no way Anthropic or OpenAI are banning Codex/Claude from AWS lol

I'm also confused; if you're so well funded, why did you even bother requesting a free FOSSVPS (Source: OP's LET profile)

Residential egress is the hard part, not the VPS. Providers would need ISP-type IP allocations, and those get burned quickly if even a few customers abuse them. Margins also shrink once you add abuse handling and compliance. Before paying for a chain, I'd test whether a clean, stable datacenter IP in a major cloud region already works for your workflow.

Again: why Chinese people try to avoid their government?! Why are they trying to use diabolical western technology?! Chinese has Deepseek, please use that and do not try to undermine your government by not abiding to rules.

Chinese GFW is for a reason, please respect it.

If you are interested, I can setup Residental (Mobile) VPN/VPS server in Finland with no bandwidth limits or port limits.

I would only need to order a 4G/5G modem/router and pay roughly 30€/m for SIM Card.

Would be interesting project to do, but I would need long term tenant to cover initial costs.

I run claude fable on some of the dirtiest hostpapa space imaginable and I've verified with fingerprinting and work that it's not being downgraded to a lower model

I'd assume it's more chinese prompts at UTC+8 peak hours triggering it

Even if you were to set up such a service, you still wouldn't be able to avoid getting banned o:)

How much would be a right price for such service monthly? @baoweise

This would be a dedicated connection / IP not shared with anyone else.

Rate limiting is essential—at the very least, you need to target malicious bot operators and implement a "reverse whitelist" (blocking known bad actors). Avoid exposing sites that are highly susceptible to scraping; focus your efforts specifically on AI-related protection, as standard websites typically do not require such rigorous risk controls.
