HostDare refusing 3-day money-back guarantee - No response for 8+ hours

I purchased a Premium VPS Japan (JSSD0) from HostDare on July 14, 2026 for $45.99/year.

Their product page clearly states "3-Day Money-Back Guarantee".

Reasons I requested refund within the 3-day window:
1. Planned to use split tunneling but was forced to use global mode due to network compatibility issues, making the 250GB monthly bandwidth impossible to work with
2. 30Mbps bandwidth creates severe bottlenecks when downloading development tools like Codex
3. The "China Optimized" label is misleading - actual network performance is nowhere near optimized

I submitted a support ticket and emailed both [email protected] and [email protected]. It's been over 8 hours with zero response, and the 3-day window is about to expire.

Has anyone else dealt with HostDare's refund process? Any advice on getting them to honor their own guarantee?

  • Fools pay @Francisco double an AWS bill just to rot in a queue for six months.

    measly eight-hour wait is nothing

How big is Codex? Is it 30GB?

8hrs isn't necessarily alarming, especially assuming refund would be a billing issue. hopefully they will honor the 3day window but i think saying they "refused it" is not quite truthful (yet).

Codex isn't that big — the update is only about 98MB. It might be a config issue on my side, because Google was fast to access — so I figured I had things set up correctly. But for some reason, downloading Codex was just painfully slow. The same Codex update finished quickly when I switched to BandwagonHost. That's what pushed me to request the refund.

I get that 8 hours isn't necessarily alarming, but when there's a hard 3-day deadline and the provider goes completely silent, it doesn't inspire confidence. I'll update the thread if they finally respond.

  • who dares loses ;)

  • Update: Just received a refund confirmation email from HostDare — $45.00 has been processed back to my original payment method (Alipay). It hasn't landed in my Alipay account yet, but international refunds usually take a few business days so I'm not worried.

Big thanks to this community — shortly after I posted here, HostDare moved on it. If anyone's interested in how the refund actually clears (or doesn't), feel free to follow along. I'll post a final update once the money hits Alipay.

might be nice if you changed the title since they never refused you anything, bit misleading sport.

    First of all calm down.
The 3 days deadline is for you asking for a refund, not "omg they must process it with 3 days!".
If you submitted ticket on time you good - give provider time to talk / think / processes it / check if you didn't sent 178578178587187578 spam emails, etc.

Refunds are not emergency critical level support and it takes time.

  • Fair points on the title — my bad, and I own that completely.

This was my first time buying from an overseas provider, and when I didn't hear back within a day, I panicked a bit. In hindsight, my ticket was sent during US nighttime and I didn't account for time zones or business hours at all. HostDare never actually refused anything — they processed the refund once they got to the ticket, and I jumped the gun with that title.

Lesson learned. Appreciate everyone who pointed it out respectfully, and thanks to those who helped regardless of my overreaction.

(Now if a mod can help edit the title, I'd be grateful — I can't change it anymore.)

So you weren’t patient enough to wait 24 hours after you created refund request?
