AVS ISP - Netherlands IP Changes

avsispavsisp Member, Patron Provider

Hello everyone,

Anyone who has a server on NL may have noticed downtime starting last night and going into today.

We had rented the block 208.70.218.0/24 that was used on NL from a guy named Thomas from Nova86. Last night, he sent a message "I'm taking back the block, got an abuse complaint from a government contractor."

We immediately got to work getting a new block and are moving everyone to the new block. We were given no notice at all here, and feel we did nothing wrong - he never sent us any abuse complaints to handle, nothing - only immediately in the middle of the night killed RPKI, deleted IRR, etc.

Everyone that was on 208.70.218.0/24 will have the same last part of the IPs, but on 217.60.96.0/24 which is leased from a more reputable source. If you have DNS pointing to the old range, please start updating them.

We are doing the changes as quickly as we can. Hopefully within an hour or 2, we'll have all VMs changed to the new range. If you do not have cloud-init running on your VM (disabled for any reason) you'll need to go edit your network config immediately to the new range.

As the range was pulled out from under us with no notice, we can only work as quickly as possible to get everyone onto the new range and get things back online for everyone.

If you had transit tunnels or BGP on that range, you'll also need to update to the new one. All IPs that were 208.70.218.X will be 217.60.96.X. For example 208.70.218.123 = 217.60.96.123.

Thank you for understanding. All clients with servers in NL with get a ticket or email shortly with more info.
