Review for Domain Registrar Biglobe Domains (Small Japanese domain registrar) | 0/5 (POOR)

dhmodhmo Member

Hello, I'd like to drop a review for this small and never known registrar (Im not sure is they ICANN Accredited or NOT).

Why I wanna drop review, because my dad is victim of them... lol.

(Biglobe is known ISP in Japan)

They are definitely scam business, so I will not recommend at all.
First of all, Supported TLD: .com .net .org .info .biz,
And All same pricing:
Domain Registration is 6,600JPY($43), It's too expensive.
Domain Renewal Price is 1,100JPY($7.2) "A MONTH".
For example .com is $9 - $10 a YEAR. so $7.2 a MONTH is very expensive.

Second, The domain transfer to other registrar costs 22,000($144) at BIGLOBE.
Not at the new registrar. It's called "Goodbye Fee", and 99% of registrar doesn't take.

Thrid, The UI is too unuseful and slow.

Four, He(my dad) mistake to expired the domain, and he reqeust restore of domain to Biglobe.
Normally, Domain have "life cycle" and it's included the length that domain has expired but can be restored" and after that domain will publicly available.
Biglobe is ignore that length and say "cannot restore".

Last, I think taking the too high pricing and with that poor service (and support) and with poor UI, it's definitely scam.
I will not recommend at all.

Conclusion, Make sure your registrar is legit and fair business and user-friendly.
If they aren't, Let's transfer to others. Do not waste your time with money.

I hope this my experience is helpful

Thanks for reading.

File a complaint with ICANN. (If they register .com domains, it is going through an ICANN-accredited registrar.)

    Yeah, true.
I'm suggesting to use more trustable and fair business company

  • Biglobe domain are JPRS's reseller service.
While it is important to choose a reliable registrar, it is equally important for users to read the terms and conditions carefully.
It appears that your father did not read these instructions properly and followed the procedure...
-The domain name is discontinued when the service cancellation procedure is completed.
-Once the cancellation procedure is completed, it cannot be undone.
-Transfer procedures are required prior to cancel if need domain.
However, it is true that these are very expensive services, so we wish you the best of luck in finding a more appropriate service company.
