As far as I know, SSL certificated aren't tied to IPs. Simply changing the IP shouldn't be a problem. If you move to a new VPS, take both the certificate and the private key with you, otherwise you'll need to generate a new CSR and have your SSL provider reissue your certificate.
The only time you would have a problem is if you assigned the ip to the ssl as the common name. If the common name is an url (something.yourdomain.com) then just update the A record for the domain and you are good.
