The funny thing is that three years of my review hardly had any ads

  • You need to pay LET $5/month to use signatures. Anyone unable to pay for this can post their signatures (3) times a year in a special thread. And as a limited time offer, we are giving you 20% off your first month. Just because we like our community so much :)

    Provider Tags aka "Patron Provider"
    [...]

If I may say so, the text in this section is rather confusing. Just call the (new) tag "Patron Provider" and revise this section using the new term. The only "Provider" tag now is "Patron Provider", so it makes little sense to continue to talk of the (old) "Provider" tag. (As it stands, this section seems to have been only minimally revised compared to the previous version.)

@jbiloh is it fine to ask users to signup for free beta testing service ? Maybe to do some contest using comments and offer few selected users the chance to experience new VPS or VPN service at free ? ( specific time period )

    Domain Auctions
    1. Posting domain auctions does not require any special tags.
    2. Maximum starting/reserve price is $7.
    3. Members can only post one (1) domain auction thread per 10 days.
    4. You need to have been registered for at least 30 days and have at least 25 non-spammy posts to post a domain auction, or to bid/participate in a domain auction.
    5. All domains in the auction must be at least 6 months old.
    6. All bids must be public and made in the domain auction thread.
    7. A deal is a deal. A failure to actually sell/transfer the domains after having offered them on action will have consequences for you at LowEndTalk. A failure to respond or finish the transaction in a decent matter (or at all) as the highest bidder may also have consequences for you at LowEndTalk.
    8. We don't hold any responsibility for potential disputes between two parties. Participating in auctions is at your own risk.
    9. Seller must specify currency (USD, Euros, North Korean won, etc.) and payment terms (PayPal, crypto, etc.) in the auction post. Which payment form(s) to accept are up to the seller and any buyer agrees to pay in that form (so don't win an auction that requires PayPal and then say you don't use PayPal).
    10. Minimum bid increments must be specified, maximum $2.
    11. An end date/time must be specified, with a timezone.

Regarding the domain selling, some extensions have expensive renewal / transfer cost. Should it be made compulsory that the seller mentions such cost (for example - quoting a few registrars for reference) ?

Tagging our Domain King @DP for more thoughts :)

@swat4 said: Regarding the domain selling, some extensions have expensive renewal / transfer cost. Should it be made compulsory that the seller mentions such cost (for example - quoting a few registrars for reference) ?

Here's my response to this, and others can correct me if I'm wrong or if I don't make any sense ✌️

I guess such information would be good to know, at least for potential buyers, if the person selling/auctioning the domain(s) could just mention up front the renewal price for the domain(s) at the current registrar, at the time of posting, but it also might not necessarily be the same price by the time the domain's up for renewal since renewal costs can and do change from time to time, depending on the TLD, and also the registrar.

Now with regards to domain transfer cost, that would be the responsibility of the buyer to check or find out the cost of transfer for a particular domain (regardless of TLD) to the registrar(s) of their choice, prior to buying or bidding for a domain.

So instead of making it a "rule", my personal advice would be to treat this on a case-by-case basis.

Before buying or bidding for a domain, just ask the seller for the renewal cost, and if the domain you're interested in is at a different registrar and you would prefer or need it to be transferred to another registrar of your choice, check with the registrar first to confirm if the domain/TLD is supported (usually for ccTLDs and "Registry Premium Domains") and how much it would cost to have it transferred over.

p/s: And no, I'm not a, the or our "Domain King", and I'll never claim to be one 🙏

I wish I could slob the biggest nob over people who have learned the insides and out of the business locally. This place has gone downhill ever since the biggest jokes were taken seriously... But tbh it was expected from the mods...

What are the benefits of having a Patron Provider Tag?

If I may ask, why did you pay for a Patron Provider tag if you don't know the benefits of having a Patron Provider tag?

(The main benefit is that you can start an offer thread every 10 days)
