Oh also in the same timeframe dedicated servers price was bumped from $125 per month to $200 per month. I hope providers were aware of this and we didn't miss shit-ton-of-promos because of this:)
Seems like progress and inflation works for dedis, but not for VPS-es - price here didn't change :-D
Also if I can - can I ask how long it took to vote/talk about this changes? Was this fast? When this idea showed up for first time?
Like we are still waiting for "We are humans" rules (soon, a year ago) or "No more spam in sells topics" (soon, like 40 days [ @plumberg knows exactly, he has a nice gif for that] ) and this would help us grasp the concept on how fast that kind of changes in rules are implemented - from idea to execution.
For domain auctions, what is the maximum date-end time limit? Can it be for example 1 month?
Updated to include a GPU enabled dedicated server category allowing up to $300/month price point.
How you calculate such percent? How about China or Japan:)?
Hello, when will be $7/year Nvidia H200 flash sale?
Likely after we discover if "we are humans only" or not.
Maybe it would be reasonable to set a minimal price limit for VPS. Because $1 per month for a non-NAT based VPS using KVM or similar technologies looks like market demping and the final result in most cases is just too bad for customers. This could prevent customers from losing their data. This also will stop customer from unrealistic expectation.
We would miss out on so many exciting threads though, not sure we should mess with this.
Useful to know what has changed.
