Hi Guys,

I am looking for a VPS with US IP for web surfing, watching and downloading movies

Requirements:

Fast Internet

No Lagging, i was using kvm before but there was so much lag, can't open more than 1 tab in IE, so i had to ask for refund

Budget = i dnt care about HD, RAM, Cores, just looking for VPS which runs smoothly without lag and i can browse websites and watch movies with fast internet, so, assuming, 1-5$ monthly

Hello,

I used this OpenVPN autoinstaller: http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/6106/openvpn-community-software-auto-installer-for-centos-5-6-debian-6-and-ubuntu-10-10/p1 and everything works fine, until I reboot. The server doesn't start with the system boot and I can't find init.d scripts. Does anyone have these problems too?

I've already googled but the only solutions that I've found required init.d scripts, and obviously I don't have them.

Lowend providers and DDoS?

I have tried three different providers the last few months and all of them have been plagued by network downtimes, most likely due to DDoS or other attacks/abuse.

At the host I'm with now my VPS is completely dead about 3 times per week. How much is acceptable in your opinion?
Not to mention how my uptime record (across all my servers) is only 24 days and I've had this one VPS for over a year now.

Is it really hard for the host to identify the client that gets attacked or abuses their resources and suspend them? I'm assuming it's in their best interest to suspend clients that get attacked or abuse since it's hurting their other customers.

So, is DDoS and abuse inevitable for Lowend providers? If you know any European host that does not have these issues - please do let me know.

Any chance of bringing LowEndTalk/wiki back?

It is now in the clear that LEB/LET has been acquired by a corporation about a year ago, despite of the fact that it was done secretively.

Due to the change of ownership, it is unavoidable that corporate interest comes first, therefore it is also acceptable that the corporation assigns somebody or a team in place to ensure that both LEB/LET run smoothly.

As a long time reader and member of LET, I am still longing for a good community atmosphere as it were when LEB/LET was in LEA's management, but I personally understand that nothing last forever and we have to be able to adapt ourself with the new atmosphere.

Every good forum has a set of rules to be followed by its members, even under LEA's management, to keep things in order as it is a fact that the livelihood of any forum depends on how comfortable the members feel when interacting within the framework of the rules.

I believe now is a good time for the company to release a formal announcement regarding the ownership, the course and direction of LEB/LET in the future as a community forum, person in charge of administering and moderating the forum, as well as new rules for posting general issue or offers.

I do hope fellow members of LEB/LET will contribute useful posts and good offers and I do hope the owner of LEB/LET to be an impartial catalyst for the benefit of the community.

Hello. I have had recently some DoS problems (~10 IPs involved, 1.5 Gbps, packets of 1500 bytes so around 100K pps). DDoS protection is generally too expensive, and I've had the impression that it doesn't really guarantee anything, at least for my budget. So the idea is to get a VPS with a burstable 10 Gbps port. So I have found these two offers:

Yes, using multiple instances from Small over Large to SSD, no issues at all.
The panel is not the best but the support reacted in good english (South Koreans tend to use *EXTREMELY* formal english for anything)

I just read some random thread - it's full of one line replies and 4-5 lines signatures. More than half my screen is filled with signatures... Can there be some reasonable limit to the size of the signatures? And maybe make them with a smaller font than the discussion?
