Colo Offer in Dubai
Hello guys,
I have been battling to find a descent colo offer in Dubai, since that is where we operate from - and most of our clients are from Dubai.
Since Penta has a new datacenter, and the previous two datacenters gave me really bad offers - I decided to make my chances and shoot them an email. This is what I got ..
Code Name Unit Price Description
RCK1 2U Rack Space 2U 300.00 Shared rack 0.25KVA included
DIA1 1Mbps DIA 1Mbps 250.00 Dedicated Internet Access, Unlimited Traffic, 1Mbps – 1xIP Address
DIA2 2Mbps DIA 2Mbps 450.00 Dedicated Internet Access, Unlimited Traffic, 2Mbps – 2xIP Addresses
I do not think I will ever be able to setup LEB offers from Dubai ...
The conversion rate is the price (RCK1+DIA1) or (RCK1+DIA2) and then divide by 3.68 to get USD. Still too expensive, and the bandwidth is terrible.

1 Mbps? Damn...
1Mbps in Dubai? ouch. i can get 100Mbps in KSA for a resonable rate. Don't forget for NON-Businesses dubai has that internet filter.
I found an offer at Etisalat, for colo - 100Mbps but limited bandwidth at probably 10 or 15GB only. Still not enough for a node with multiple vps's. Let alone they charge approx 700 Dirhams, (~190USD) for it.
Still bad. I really am looking to expand locally, within the UAE - the datacenter has to be accessible easily. Cant afford to go to the KSA every day hhhh
What about http://zajil.com/index.html
There is only 3 Options in the region that are reasonable. there is KSA which will get you a 100Mbps pipe for around $300 + a month, there is Turkey (Around $200+ ) and there is the zionist entity ($150 ish)
I can understand why colo would be expensive in Dubai - with all the ambient heat, the cooling costs must be really high. Buth the price for bandwidth is just... crazy.
Not accessible for me, this is not in the UAE at all. haha
As an entity we cant deal with the "zionists" ... no offence
@rsk - I know but I heard that US invested a lot of money in IT infrastructure in Kuwait and Iraq so maybe connectivity will be cheaper.
Why would you travel to KSA everyday? How do you manage your servers at OVH?
@gbshouse - yes, that is correct. However, look at it from all the sides - the UAE is a safe country, which is pretty much stable, and there aren't any visible threats.
However - now look at the other side. Things aren't as stable. Let alone the requirement of having a person staffed there.
Didnt know that sorry .
SLA .. Im pretty sure that these KSA companies wont give a damn if anything happened - it isn't their hardware at stake ...
@Zigga - also it is "the" KSA. Since it is a very religious country, if one of our clients decides to host some porno (which is against the rules anyways) - we will get the plug pulled by the dc.
yeah, its a pain. Well good luck with your endeavours anyway! I like Etisalat's connectivity.
i would love when you could stop calling my people "zionists" :P
Anyway, we have UAE (but not Dubai, Abu dhabi) planned and some more space available (1-2U) if you're interested - Pricing is cheaper than quoted above.
I do not hold a grudge against anyone - at all. People fight all the time, and I can't do anything about it. Its their "game" not mine.
@William - I am interested, yes, please do pm me your offers
hostdime
I bet the bandwidth is expensive :P Also, its not really middle-east.
Egypt more cheaper than any Middle East provider
There's Citynet, but they're awful. Tons of (network based) downtime for their VPS at least. I wouldn't expect their colo to be any better.
Citynet is crap due their upstream from badest provider in the world it's link.eg as i remember, there is some stable here like Tedata, Etisalat and Vodafone.
Let's not.
You're an intelligent person surely you can't agree with the persecution of the Palestinans?
As far as i am concerned they can have their own state and the Israelis should just give them the Westbank and Gaza (we have no use for it anyway, why build houses and fight for a large desert, there is not even oil) and we can just split Jerusalem in half (like Bosnia did with their capital).
Other than that i don't care about Israel or the politics down there (the beaches are nice tho to swim), i still wonder when the next war happens (who wins it is anyway fixed, mainly because one side thas the americans behind it - However i would like to see what happens if a KSA-Israel war breaks out, the US are in a bad situation then and both sides have nuclear weapons which they say they don't have)
Will send in a few min
KSA is basically a puppet regime as is qatar. they wont attack the regime in question.
And its worth noting i have nothing against jews. As liam said above.
Huh? Which Will is speaking now? Aren't you chinese? Confusing.. :S
Yes, and Jewish
So you have a small and circumsized penis? ;-)
I think where going off topic lmao
Unlike you seem to, i do not see many penises of other persons :P
