Need help installing hypervm xen

I'm trying to install hypervm on my ovh bhs server, I read that to do xen virtualization it need a lvm empty partition.
I'm new to disk partitioning on linux, and since the same procedure is needed to install solusvm xen (going to use that on another server) I would like to learn how to do it.
Someone that can teach me how to do it? If you want I can give you back a free vps.

Clean centos 5.8 installation:

I would like to set it like solusvm xen requirements wiki.solusvm.com/Xen_Virtualization

I suggest you go ahead with the vnc method of reinstalling the server.

And then manually setting up the partitions to suit your needs :)

    Read this : http://forum.soluslabs.com/showthread.php/280-Installing-SolusVM-on-an-OVH-Kimsufi-server

Edit: Make sure you use the proper arch for your OS - seeing as this will host vps's 64bit (x86_64)

Default installation through OVH Manager is Soft RAID 1. If you need re-partition your server as Solusvm requirements, i think you need use OVH's vKVM to install CentOS from ISO file and use your own partition scheme.

    HTH.

Why not umount the second md* / home partition and then set up a LVM on this?

this was my first try, I found some tutorials online but as I don't have any knowledge about partitioning and linux filesystem after reinstalling os 3 times because I corrupted os I gave up..

Installed os following rsk method, all worked fine, disabled selinux, installed hypervm, changed to xen kernel, restarted server, hypervm panel working, when adding xen vps:

    but I have +800GB lvm

all the rest of the 1tb drive is the LVM , the other HD that was used for raid it's unused

I tired to run another applet, seems I have some problems with java, going to reinstall it later.

Anyway now I have fresh os with LVM but still get lvm error on hypervm

Got it running, but running away from hypervm.. very bad and confused panel in my opinion, going to get solusvm demo.

    Steps:
    1) clean centos 5.8 install from ovh with default partition
    2) To install centos with wanted parititions I used: http://forum.soluslabs.com/showthread.php/280-Installing-SolusVM-on-an-OVH-Kimsufi-server , http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4991 is same method , or with vKVM
    3) vgcreate xen /dev/ (I was missing this when I took last screens with lvm partition)
    4) follow hypervm installation
    5) run centos5fix hypervm script to start vpses

  • Use better solution:

    1) Reinstall in CentOS 6
    2) Edit grub to pxe centos vnc install (google: ovh+centos+vnc)
    3) Install a clean and fresh CentOS 6 with VNC and create partitions with lvm and raid over hdd manager
    4) Install Xen from gitco or something other repo for CentOS 6
    5) Install solsuvm node
