I am able to run a wordpress blog (15+ plugins active) on a 128mb openvz vps :)

I use Tuxlite script with LEMP stack (Nginx instead of Apache). A 256mb vps with caching will be much more comfortable to support good number of page views per day.

Here are two other scripts I am sure will work.

    https://github.com/KnightSwarm/Minstall

  • i tried Tuxlite but wordpress not installed on openvz and shell access denied

Never tried it, newest I've seen around for the specific function.

My guess is that you're not ready for an unmanaged VPS. Sorry, but if I can save you time, it's worth saying. You're looking to get from OS install to Wordpress with no in between knowledge. Even if you achieve it, you're not going to be satisfied for long.

I have used Tuxlite on both openvz and kvm and did not have any problems.

I think you have forgot to create another user and the tuxlite script has disabled interactive login for root user which is expected.

Follow the instructions at http://tuxlite.com/installation/ and you should be good. One step you may have to do soon after running adduser username command is to run the command sudo adduser username sudo to make the new user is added to sudoers list (assuming Ubuntu).

  • By the way, I use Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit Minimal template for my VPS.

trying out minstall, but i miss phpmyadmin install
i tried the script in extras, but get this:

chmod: cannot access /home/main/http/hosts/host.example.com/mysql': No such file or directory chown: invalid user:main:main'

in tuxlite i can simply enable or disable phpmyadmin for domains

    Just use adminer.

  • I did not try it but SQL Buddy may be of help as well.

  • @vanarp thanks now tuxlite work fine
