Huh? Sounds like he wants to put a file up somewhere and wget it to the VPS. Just use SFTP to upload the file directly to the VPS. If you can SSH you can SFTP.

lately, I have seen zip files from dropbox to VPS are transferred fine but the unzip utility on Ubuntu/Debian refuses to accept it as a valid zip. Tested it numerous times

If you want to wget from mediafire, be sure to tunnel your traffic to your server first before loading the download page.

Small trick I found. Use it too much, you get hit with a captcha though. Don't spread this as I dont want it to stop working :P.

I have used them and unzip utility on CentOS accepted it. Worked fine.
I would recommend it for direct link and speed.
