  • Unrealistic pricing for both countries...

Opinions/Posts are to be assumed my own/personal and not company related unless obvious - Content is protected by free speech laws in the US (where LET is hosted) and Austria (where i live). I am currently not working @ EDIS due to health issues.

You probably won't get Korean for a while. They have a strict policy against outsiders hosting within the country. (You're required to get a foreigner's version of a social security number (aka Legal Alien Identification Number) even for a simple VPS.

Also, yeah you won't find anything like that pricing wise. Bandwidth is expensive, let alone RAM.

    Catalyst Host - Pie Approved!
  • It's a fairy dream,bro.

PaulVPS - Los Angeles, Kansas and Frankfurt low end OpenVZ & Xen VPS with fantastic performance.
  • @GreenVine You could always get a Linode in Tokyo...

  • @HalfEatenPie said: "Alien Identification Number"

    Interesting phrase :)

  • @rds100 said: Interesting phrase :)

Well... :P Alien does mean Foreign.

For a Linode Tokyo 2G+,the OP will have to pay $79.95/m for it.

PaulVPS - Los Angeles, Kansas and Frankfurt low end OpenVZ & Xen VPS with fantastic performance.
  • That's why...

    Makes sense... right?

Korea routes all their traffic through china. So it would make more sense using China.

As for Japan: vps.net, vr.org and linode come to mind. Not sure if techievps has any their.

  • @Liam said: Not sure if techievps has any their.

TechieVPS will merge to VPS.net in the end of Oct :D

  • Not...going...to.. Happen bro...

  • Techie VPS is toast. They aren't accepting any new customers under that brand.

The VPS.net brand they are merging into (always been the same company) has MUCH higher prices.

Lowest plan is: 1.2GHz Dedicated RAM 376MB Disk space 10GB Network transfer 1TB Monthly cost from $20.00

Really aren't many options in Japan. Very costly compared to US and Europe :(

  • North Korea is the true off shore hosting. DMCA doesn't dare to touch it.

I have VPSes with Cloudshards & Terafire.

@Liam That's 'Best Korea,' not the actual KR.

I haven't found any references to NK, and I'd say that people think of SK when one says 'Korea.'

    Haha, what?

  • Hmm... A little expensive... For Hong Kong, EDIS HK DC has a network issue to mainland China...

That was the funniest joke I've ever heard

I'm Korean and I might be able to help you. First off, you MUST be good at Korean to get support

First recommendation is Cafe24: 2G RAM 40G HDD (raid10) 8 cores E5606 XEN 1Gbps, 600G/mo Uptime: always 100% or 99.99% in my experience setup fee: $20 monthly fee: $15 Cafe24 is one of the most experienced hosting company in Korea. Their products are cheap and in good quality.

Second recommendation is Smileserv: 2G RAM 100G HDD (raid10) 2 cores KVM 1Gbps, 250G/mo Uptime: 99.97% or better in my experience + hardware firewall, auto alert when service down, remote KVM console all included deposit: $18 monthly fee: $34 Smileserv is a bit more expensive but their support is awesome (in Korean...) they have strict quota per one dedicated server (never oversold)

third is ucloud biz 2G RAM 100G HDD 1 core 1Gbps, 100G/mo Uptime: 99.95% or better monthly fee: $36 Ucloud biz is the best cloud service in Korea (not as good as aws...) They have good api and disaster recovery services you can freely use

    Hope this helps...

Yeah but it's hilarious that someone thought people mean .KP in a discussion about VPS hosting, and even linked the BGP.HE.NET page for .KP as a proof of "look, I'm right!". :D

Please give me your website, and if you support PayPal and English support?

  • @Jun said: I'm Korean and I might be able to help you. First off, you MUST be good at Korean to get support

And give me test IP please.

  • He is no seller... he just gave you OTHER providers, unrelated to him. And no, none of these do PayPal or english support

Opinions/Posts are to be assumed my own/personal and not company related unless obvious - Content is protected by free speech laws in the US (where LET is hosted) and Austria (where i live). I am currently not working @ EDIS due to health issues.

  • Who can understand a little Korean...?

  • I understand Korean, I can help if need be.

  • Any other choose?

  • Add me to the list of folks looking also.

Interested in offers in Tokyo, Japan.

  • Any other Japan VPS?

  • Philippines VPS also welcome:)

    @GreenVine said: Why no chance?

Because it is more expensive in the Philippines

  • EXTREMELY more expensive

Maybe other company here can quote better

  • Very unlikely, in Philipines it is simply the pricing for the BW.

  • Hmmm have you guys ever think about Vietnam VPS? I am not saying it's cheaper than HK or SG though. The price range is something like $20/mo for a 256MB (unlimited bw with 50Mbps cap).

The geo-location of Vietnam is actually very ideal since it is at the centre of south east Asia, direct peer with singtel and pccw.

Let me know if some one need test IP to do traceroute.
