    One thing that is not mentioned there is that read iops are 5 times more frequent that write ones. At least this is what my lab tests show as well as some other info from various sources. For a storage array, backup especially, that is, obviously, not true, but for day to day operations, reading occurs much more frequently than write. This is also one more argument against the dd "test". M
