[LET Exclusive] Bornin.Asia - LIVE (in Beta)!

It all started with @tridinebandim 's idea (http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/119509#Comment_119509) after I registered bornin.asia and with some help from really helpful LET members (http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/4747/good-subdomain-script), particularly @Taz_NinjaHawk and @Randy, as well as a great ChicagoVPS offer from @jshinkle and @CVPS_Chris (http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/chicagovps-7month-2gb-openvz-vps-in-buffalo-ny-and-chicago-il-usa/), I finally managed to put everything together and present to you: Bornin.Asia subdomain and really low-end free shared hosting (no VPS, sorry).

It is not fully completed yet but at the moment, I think I can start release some accounts to the reputable and active LET members as my appreciation for all the help I have received.

So here is how it works:

1. Sign up here: https://billing.bornin.asia/order/index.php?id=1 (yes I did get a cheap NameCheap SSL Cert), one account per LET user please.

2. PM me the account name you used for registration, and if you are one of the active members, I will approve your account. Please note that as this is a free service, and I need to eat/sleep/do my day job/have fun during weekend, it might take up to 24 hours for your account to be approved, I appreciate your patience on this matter.

3. Once you get the approval email, you can log in to CPanel through http://yoursubdomain.bornin.asia:2082 or https://yoursubdomain.bornin.asia:2083, note that you have access to the advanced DNS editor which enable you to change the A record of the subdomain, so if 50MB of space is too small for you, please feel free to point the IP to your own server.

4. Although it is not a must-have, I would appreciate if you could kindly register an account in the forum https://billing.bornin.asia/forums and ask for questions/seeking help as well as post all your comments and suggestions.

And here are a few things to note:

1. This is a free hosting service that is currently in beta stage, and therefore it could be down or there could be temporary issues here and there as I am fixing things. Please bear with me as this is the first time I am trying to offer something. Also, please keep your own backups. Also note that the majority of the support will be done via the forum mentioned above, and I do hope members who are benefiting from this service could offer some help to the other new members as well, you can send emails to admin AT bornin.asia if it is related to your personal information/password reset, etc, but please do not email me if you need to know how to upload your website and/or how to create subdomains, etc.

2. Go easy with the noobs (aka: me), I know there are many experts here who could probably get root access from CPanel in 2 seconds, I appreciate your advice on improving the security of the hosting, but please do not use this to test your hacking skills. I have spent a good deal of time and money as well on this absolutely free service. And I will put up a shame list with your LET user name if you are found to repeatedly abusing the resources.

3. As the VPS that is used for this project is with ChicagoVPS, their AUP and TOS applies to BornIn.Asia as well, their TOS can be found on this page: https://billing.chicagovps.net/terms_of_service.php and AUP here: http://chicagovps.net/downloads/AcceptableUsePolicy_ChicagoVPS.pdf.

Here is what you will be getting:

50 MB of hard drive space 500 MB of monthly bandwidth 5 FTP accounts 2 Email accounts 5 MySQL databases 5 subdomains maximum 100 emails per hour

Hehe.. Sorry for the miunderstanding :D I just re read the isgnature, it's free shared hosting Just wondering how we use the subdomain? Can we just make www.borninasia.com/~Erawan or erawan.bornin.asia?

Post updated, sorry, most of the time we are talking about VPS here but hosting a VPS in an OpenVZ VPS is probably not a good idea.

erawan.bornin.asia, although personally I would think it would be more fun to have a more creative domain name. Like theSmartestErawan.bornin.asia :)

You have access to the advanced DNS editor which means you can change the A record, CNAME record and a whole bunch of others. But if you would like to change NS I will have to make the change on WHM end, which I am not sure if it is going to break anything. Feel free to PM me if that is what you are looking for though.

nah,dns record would work fine. if you everdesire to getrid of the domain, hmu though. as i am going to use it for my personal mail.

Got my first fraud order today: someone registering with an address in China and his last name is Chevrolet (which is clearly not a Chinese surname) and use an Australian IP address and some info that was copied from http://xyor.net/forum.php, which amazingly, use the Singlehop logo...

Any tips on how to deal with them other than manually going through every single order? I don't mind doing that since I do not have that many orders coming in anyways but if you have any other tip it would be great.

And I have already limited the numbers of emails that could be sent in CPanel, and the service is free shared hosting and does not comes with shells also.
