Serious FS benchmarking?
Hi,
What do you guys use for serious FS benchmarking (the standard dd test doesn't count - it's mostly for showoff, not for evaluating performance under real world loads).
I am planning to experiment with some different hardware configurations for our next node (different size RAID arrays, SSD cache, entirely SSD, etc.) and i want to do some real benchmarking to see which of the variants are worth it and which are not.

HDParm or Bonnie++.
@Kairus Thanks! HDParm is not any better than dd - it only does large sequential read. But Bonnie++ is worth it, will see what it gives.
iozone?
ioping
@gsrdgrdghd unfortunately ioping does nothing (shows no meaningful results) on a test node where you are the only user and nobody is doing i/o.
sysbench
Keep us informed! :-)
@prometeus yep, will do, once i have enough data to think on
