KVM Beta Testing
Hey,
We are going to be expanding to KVM soon but before we put it into production , We are running a Beta testing month.
There are very limited places for this.
To make sure everyone has a fair chance I'll be releasing 2 now and another 4 on Monday.
All I ask is that you post if you find any issues and share your thoughts.
Currently the only ISO we have is CentOS5 you can request any you want via ticket or here.. :)
Plan is as follows: 15GB Disk 1024MB RAM 500GB bandwidth

how long do we keep this kvm?
The node was purchased today so depending on the feedback probably until 22nd of next month.
I'll decide at a later date.

doing it with centos, don't know exact mirror site so I am using prometeus mirror site. since it's from Italy, will take some time to finish.
would you upload centos 5 or 6, not 5.8, and 32bit too, thanks.

Ah.. I'm sorry. I was just about want to register, but it seems like already out of stock :)
Only reason for limited stock is due to only having a /29...
I'm asking the guys on Livechat if they can give me another now.

installing centos 5.8 64bit now, seems going smooth..took time to find out mirror site again for 64bit. will just run server and see what happens...not desktop or any other crap...

I have literally seen 100 new hosts start doing KVM this month.
If you have time, upload centos 6, I have a bad experience with this with the respect of memory usage, so after 5.8, let me do 6,..

It was just an observation.. no, URPad has no plans for KVM, its not our cup of tea. This is not to mention that some of the best people/companies we partner with for purchasing excess hardware from, etc sell KVM and we wouldn't want to compete with them.
Yup, out of stock and that was fast!
There was only 3 in stock though haha.
I use same technique when I got 128mb buyvm. Just be there at the right time, and make sure you click fast =)
