Would any of you be interested in some Raspberry PI hosting

It'll cost around $2 A month for 1 IPV4 Address, 100GB Bandwidth @ 100Mbps, Free Re-install's/Installations

Just wanted to know if Raspberry PI's are hot enough in the hosting industry

These's PI's I have are a mix of Model a and b

Personally myself, These thing's have alot of power for their size and power consumption, Could be very LET friendly besides some cheap VPS

Price is interesting. Even I can think of trying one.

  • I would get one at that price! Don't even care about DC location :)

    @nexmark im in as well

  • My wife got me a Pi for my birthday last year. I was so excited to play with it. It's been racked up at work (IPv4, IPv6, 30/30Mb) since October and it just sits there doing nothing. I have no idea what to do with it...

Definitely interested, looking forward to a launch.

  • Would totally go for this, been thinking of getting one myself.

  • The only issue with this is if you have a lot of reinstall requests, that could make the DC do quite some work which they won't probably do.

For $2? I'll take it even if it's 250ms from me and hosted by a HF skid. (that last part isn't an accusation, it's a declaration that I'll pay anyone $2 for dedicated anything)

What do you mean exactly? Model A has no ethernet adapter.

We'll be using WiFi dongles for the model A, We only have 3 of them.. The rest are the newer and better Model B, I'll Probably be giving away a free usage tier on them also (Model A) (Giveaway)

No, I would not pay for a 700MHz thing colocation when I can get an vps with E3 for a lower price. Seriously guys, go do some expirements with your pi, it's built for that!

You know they released a B+ right?

  • Just get an Intel Nuc box - much quicker and you fit a 2.5 disk in.

What's wrong with a 12 year ROI? It's not like it'll be outdated by then.

Sent mine off to some Netherlands datacenter colocation and had it working for about a month. Something must have gone wrong with the booting or something. Might request that to be sent back to the UK now you remind me, lol.

The data sheet says NUC requires up to 65W, which means that in a system with that particular density, passive cooling will be a problem. Correct me if i am wrong. Otherwise it looks like a nice board.
