Hello, Everyone
Here i came again, best place talk.
I'm planing to move my godaddy DNS to Route53 (cuz i b'live its much more faster than any DNS provider) but no experience with aws Route53, tho some tuts are really simple to follow but couldn't find what i was looking for.

Here is my question .

Domain/DNS - @ godaddy

Hosting/IPs - @ somewhere

So, how do i setup DNS for my domain names at Route53 ? including google mailing MX record ? my confusion is do i really need to host website in EC2 to setup Route53 ? If not please help me here.

step guide could be great help.

Thanks

You only will need Route53 to setup your dns, no need in EC2.

It's easy to setup, read documentation of route53 which is pretty good.

Do you need to use Route53, I find amazons services seem to rename everything from the standard just a little to make it more complicated to setup.

    Whats wrong with GD DNS?

why don't u try google dns services, it seems good as well.

    nsone.net seems to be very costly :{

Well, besides what's wrong with GoDaddy as a whole, nothing.

There is that, but they have nice cheap domain offers...

    Since you insist.

    • Incompetent, insecure support
    • Support of internet-harming causes
    • Woefully out-of-date infrastructure
    • Difficulty moving domains on whois-privacy-enabled domains

Not arguing with you, for certain churn and burn sites getting a domain for £2 is convenient, anything long term or professional I stick to a more respected registrar.
