$5000 Hostbill
Well, just when my Hostbill price graph had been flying all over the place, it just launched into space.

Is he stupid or just plain daft.
You can get a discount for 3:
O_o something is wrong with them!
I've never used it, but believe I've only heard good things about the software itself.
If it really is that good, the price may not scare away the market he he wants. A lot of money, for sure, but it's ultimately a small price to pay for some.
$5,000 Hostbill is reasonable since someday maybe they will increase the price into $50,000
We have one of the legacy licenses before the crazy price hikes. The software itself works quite well.
@Microlinux lots of bugs.
Lol im paying only $5/mo for the license
I guess the founder was losing money in the Casino and treated his business as a ATM?
How does Hostbill compare to Ubersmith? I've never used it and I know of only 1 hosting company that does.
I have only been on the client side of Ubersmith ( dont like it very much ) but I can say that HB is worlds better than WHMCS. I now value the $199 I spent for most all of the addons and about 100 more bucks for some of the paid addons IPAM, etc
If you have all of the modules/addons for Hostbill I dont think Ubersmith would deliver anything more desireable (and less bloaty of a system)
HB had a iffy past while growing or figuring out how to grow and pivot into more of a enterprise role, this we saw alot of threads regarding price changes etc and lack of contact, serious bugs.
Though now it seems to have settled down, bug reporting is fast, patches every friday afternoon and emergency patches when needed. That said I still stay a week or two behind friday releases unless its security related.
If I was in a larger position such as a larger colo/dc provider I would not disregard the option to research HB over Ubersmith.
O.o thats over 9000!!
couldnt resist
Maybe they are facing some kind of bankruptcy?
Or they've grown to the point where they no longer need the smaller users to report bugs (among other things) and would like to focus more on creating a product/support service tailored for the larger clients?
That's quite the SSL cert they have.
Wholesale internet, quadranet, fdcservers.
It's a fine product, just... feels crusty.
Not sure of the market they are targetting
You can save over $7000 and add massive value for your company!!!
The joke is not funny.
not again ............
He's 15 days late
