Has anyone used tEngine (nginx drop-in replacement)?

tengine.taobao.org/index.html

I just came across tengine and wondering if anyone already tried and using it in production servers?

Tengine is a modified version of nginx, by Taobao.

  • Yes, I have used it, in production servers. Would you like to know anything specific?

    1. What is the most valuable feature that made you switch to tengine.

    2. Your general feeling about tengine stability.

    3. How much traffic is hitting your webserver per month.

    Thanks.

  • Really nginx is already great. Why would anyone want a replacement?

Technically speaking, it's a fork with the capability to dynamically load modules.

ISPconfig has support for nginx- so it probably can be used.

Why do I need dynamic modules in high performance system like nginx? It is a nice to have feature for me.

Well why not just submit their patches to nginx then?

  • I use it for my blog.

tengine offers gret flexibility. Its got reasonably high performance (its aim is not to compete with raw performance engines such as nginx) and some really neat features (DSO <3).

I don't use it in production myself however I have researched it and read its code.
